yo i tink yall r confused..bcuzz black pplz hair is kinky, a perm straightens it out...n cuz white ppeople got straight hair..a perm makes it curlly..u get wa im sayin?..itz like da perm makes ur hair lighter..it has different effects for black ppl and for white ppl..a kit is different from a perm cuz a kit makes ur hair curly..black women use perms 2 relax their hair while white women use it 2 make their hair curly
Hmm you're right but you're wrong twista, Its called a perm for a reason. It was short for "permanent wave" despite the fact it isn't in fact permanent. Basically perming breaks up the bonds of the protein in your hair and allows you to reshape them how you like. If you use perm chemicals, and don't use rollers or whatever, then yes it would straighten hair. but.. check this wiki quote
"The reverse perm straightens the hair instead of curling it. The
same chemical methods can be used for this, but the hair is not wrapped
around rods. This process is commonly used by African-Americans and
others with naturally curly hair."

Kits use the same chemicals as used in perms, relaxers ( but milder)
a kit is a three step process. first u apply the relaxer which is a creme chemical. u apply evenly to your head covering all parts of natural hair. then if u want waves you comb with the grain alll the way to the hairline. (basically comb in direction as u brush) then if u want curls u comb against n use a styling lift. depending on texture of hair u let sit for 5 to 10 mins. 15 is limit other wise u get scalped burned or hair loss. for waves u wait to see a slight s-scurl form n wash it out. then u apply neutralizing shampoo n wash out. after that u apply the supplied stylin gel n 360 style pomade (suggested) it straitens out s-curls to produce a wave look that is not permanent but natural looking.
kitted wave celebs are diddy, nelly (used to be natural). fabolous is an example of us with naturals. alot of nba stars such as lebron, joe johnson, quentin richardson, dwyane wade, t-mac are naturals.
u can tell the difference by the way u look at em. kits need more light to show the pattern. natural waves are always there.
naw not often.. only did it a 2 times.. cuz when my hair get extra high.. it be lookin nappish curly..so i rather do it so the curls look silky...cuz i dont want to be goin to the barber sometimes.. then i brush it bak down.. when i get a cut.. and im still wavin.. but it all depends on how strong ur pattern is... i wudnt really reccomend tryin to kit while ur hair is low and u got waves cuz it cud screw up yo pattern
