Perhaps I can help? A good rule is this, if your skin can handle it, so can your bond. You wouldn't place a hot iron on your skin, right? Same with your bond. If your scalp can handle hot water for washing, so can your bond. Your skin can handle a hair dryer? So can your bond, at a distance. If your hot rollers are too hot to sit on your skin for as long as they would be in your hair, they are too hot for the bond as well.
Just be careful with your gentle, but secure bond, as you would with burning your skin, and you shouldn't have any issues with compromising the integrity of the bond. And remember they were CREATED to be gentle with an easy removal safe for your hair. With proper care you will be so pleased! I may play up the safety of being gentle with the bond but that is to err on the side of caution and so you may be pleasantly surprised and happy with what this system can do!
I LOVE Pooks' statement, "you have to feel these to understand them." She is so right!!!
Thanks for all your great guidance, Pooks, and your bonds look awesome, far better than mine! I'd love photos for the site if you can. Especially for your ingenious way of mixing the lengths for those layers! I can't even tell you have extensions in! You totally win my award for best DIY-er! Thanks again for trying the system!
I just can't believe pooks was able to reach behind her head and section so nicely! I've tried and gave up very quickly!! I wish I had the patience but nope.
I like that this method doesn't require acetone to remove!

Hi TiffanyTwist, thank you for taking the time to answer the questions.
As you know I had some concerns about your system. I had 3 questions/concerns. The first being the application demonstration, but you have since put up new video on your website and resolved that concern. The second being the security of the bond and you have also clarified that. The third question/concern was the substance of the bond which I still dont know. I completely understand your desire to keep your bond a trade secret.
Im not trying to be 'b!tchy" at all. I just want to be informed about a system and the products I put in my hair. Lord knows I surely dont always use/not use something based on whether its 'good' for my hair, but I at least like to know what it is that Im using.
Considering that there are several companies out there that use the hype that their bond is not glue, not adhesive when in fact it is. Considering that they claim that their bond is 'safe' and 'natural' by calling it 'organic protein' when in fact its still glue, Im sure you could understand why some people may want more information on the bonding substance or have these questions.
I appreciate that you have taken the time to answer so many questions here and on the other forums. I wish you much success with your system and products, the system definitely has some positives, like the easy removal...BIG PLUS!
We are working with people on what about the
bond should, or could, be shared for the benefit of users, but until then, please be assured
the ingredients in the bond are either safe, non-toxic, natural, cosmetic grade
or all 4.There are no harsh chemical fumes, just a pleasant fresh scent we add,
and not to cover up anything, but because I love things that smell
good.
If you have any reservations whatsoever about using a
product whose recipe a trade secret, I would suggest you wait until you have
confirmation from users that the product is not glue, nor carries any
indication of chemical additives.I am
unsure how companies get away with claiming “no adhesives” when in fact they
are using them, but I am a person who hates a lie and would not
choose to run my company as such.
Please feel free to visit the site,
http://www.tiffanytwist.com/hair and e-mail us if you have any questions whatsoever.I know the
system has aroused interest as well as skepticism, and I look forward to
assisting you to discover why, or why not, this process might be for you. It’s very new, and difficult to reinvent
something, but once you get the reality of the fact you can wear hair
extensions long term, without damage or difficulty of removal, and for so
little $$, you will be oh so pleased! Thanks for reading! xxoo Tiffany Twist
thanks tiffany....i understand both sides, everybody wants to know exactly what the bond is made of but you need to protect the rights to your product
if i were you and i'd put that much work into this product i'd be smart enough not to blab to everyone the exact 'recipe' because then you'll find the 'veronica vault' and the 'sheila shimmy' being sold all over the place
lotta talkin 'bout hair n other stuff: http://www.diyextensions.net/

Wow this is very interesting, Pooks how long does that last? You look beautiful by the way!
Just focus on getting to know him and you'll know and beleive he's that friend that might not always come right when you call, but always comes right on time..
Here's my 2 cent review. I did the install last night. Here's what I have to compare...shrinkies, Monkey Barzz fusion, micro-links, Kristin's fusion chips, every kind of pro-tape, and liquid gold...I may have left something out. It's only been a day so I can't comment on longevity, but I LOVE the install. No stinky hot fusion glue burning off my prints with the glue-gun leaking all over the counter; None of those little metal links digging into my scalp (I don't know how people wear those) and folding over when I remove them; No acetone running down my face to remove the mistakes; No orange oil burning my skin; No fly-paper tape first sticking on my thumb and then the finger I use to remove it from my thumb. These feel good and right out of the package the hair was nice. We'll see how it wears. I'm impressed.
Whew! I'm glad to hear of these successful applications.
There were issues that came up in the application of the system and I am working hard to correct them. Some mistakes that were being made were: Not getting even distribution of the bond on the extension hair, the bond needs to be stirred throughout the application. We then put it in BOLD on the instructions. Another was too large of bonds. We reduced the measurement of the amount of hair being dipped and added tips to "tap" your dipped extension hair on the side of the pot to "loose" any extra bond. Another girl was molding hers like you do with hot glue applications, but, nope, don't do it like that or you'll lose the bond! And that's about it, now if you hear of an error you'll know why! Hopefully that puts an end to the application issues and you love the system as much as I do!
I wear mine for 6-8 weeks then remove them to do a foil. I don't know if this could go longer. It seems to me after 6 weeks I'm taking quite a few out that start to lose their hold. I wasn't really going for longevity. Probley not good for 12 weeks of wear, but someone is welcome to try it!
Here's an update...My first shampoo and nearly every bond flew out of my hair. It looked like baby snakes flying out of my head. I wroteTT to see what I did wrong...but I honestly thought I followed everything to the T. Some of the first bonds on the back bottom row are still in place so in fairness may it was a stirring issue...but I didn't ever notice any separating...and if it is that tempremental it isn't for me. There is a lot of waxy residue left...just no hair....and it isn't easily crumbing and brushing away. I guess it's back to acetone and sticky tape.
Dehlin, I tried to get back to you right away and hope to speak to you soon. Although I had to ditch my company tonight, this sparked me to do an experiment with the fresh bonds in this mannequin head that is planning to swim this weekend.
Here she is just after application of 1 row...
And after a wash and rinse, a few tugs and swings around the room.......
Her bonds are holding fine and right now she is still hanging by her bonds (40 minutes) so I can keep from going insane wondering what went wrong with yours. I wear and wash these things for 8 weeks at a time and lose just a few. It's perplexing, I used to do stir much less than I do now and without problems!?
Let's be in touch and find a way to resolve. Just as a note, I believe the process takes practice. If I were using glue it would be easy, but then I'd get all those hair loss emails...
I hope by my testimony (My guests have been swinging her by her hair for the last 30 minutes trying to keep me from flipping out!) and photos you know I'm not trying to sell you something without value or trying to waste your time. Once again I am so sorry this happened. I'm horrified to think you were getting ready for a Friday night date or something!! I'm sure I won't sleep... like ever!!
