Beautiful Sandy,
I saw your picture on your website, you are right, the picture is a little bit fuzzy and your head is turned so it is hard to see your face. However from what I can tell from the picture, you have great features, and are a feminine looking woman, my guess is you look sensational bald!
Also Sandy, who needs hair to change your look! My wife changes her look with different wigs and headscarves! And there are many ways to wear the headscarves! Also the bald look, or for that matter a look with a sexy headscarf, looks great with earrings, especially long dangle earrings or hoops! You can change your look whenever you want with wigs, scarves, jewelry, earrings, etc., and blonde wigs are attractive, but since you were a brunette, brunette wigs are a possibility,( but that is my bias coming through, I like brunettes).
As far as head tattoing, I have seen on the net, and a few times in person, women with head tattoos. I knew a woman who was actually an astrolger and palm reader who had alopecia totalis, who had a large blue star tattooed on the side of her head, and she went by the name of Blue Star. I haven`t seen her in years, and I tried to find her a couple of years ago just to talk with her, but she must have moved to a different city, I can`t find her anywhere, and I never knew what her real name is, so I may not meet her again, but she was an intelligent and attractive lady,
Head tattooing is tricky though, if you were to do such a thing it had better be a very attractive and classy tattoo, not something silly or fadish. Just like tattoos on other parts of the body, it has to be attractive. I am not a huge fan of tattoos, I don`t have any neither does my wife, one of my teenage daughters has an attractive ankle tattoo. I have seen people with attractive tattoos, but I have seen many others with tattoos that really don`t look so good, you know, trashy looking.
Because I have always had such an interest in women with very short hair or bald women, and because I have traveled alot , worked and played music in rock bands, and also work with the public in the cab bussiness and meet many different types of people, I have had an oppurtunity to meet quite a few bald women, some with alopecia, others who shave their heads. And almost always, with very few exceptions, these women were interesting, intelligent, and usually were somewhat artistic and had a sense of fashion. Sometime I will post a few of the stories I have to tell about some of the bald women I have met, including a couple of bald women who are regular customers of my cab service.
Excluding women cancer patients going through chemo, I read that there is an estimated 500,000 bald women in the United States who either have alopecia totalis or who shave their heads. I don`t think anyone knows for sure how many bald women there are, but I believe there is that many, considering that I have personally met at least 50 bald women in my life, and have seen many more than that, and of course that is not even including the ones I didn`t know were bald because they wore a wig!
Anyway, thanks for writing lovely Sandra, you are a doll, and I hope more bald ladies write in!!!!!
Love,
Johan

Hi Johan, you already know me but I thought I`d reply just to start the thread off. I think it`s great that Monique shaves her head bald and is happy about it, the only difference of course is she has a choice. She`s lucky too to be with a man who appreciates the beauty of a bald woman, I`ve yet to find some such person who isn`t miles away and on the other end of a computer.
I`ve detailed some of my experiences on my recently updated home page:

http://www.geocities.com/scooper632000/baldsandyspage.html

As regards sharing experiences, there`s a nice bald lady called Sharon Aiello who runs a Yahoo group called SenShar. She`s happy to talk to anyone about alopecia, in fact a bit too happy, members who don`t chat to her every day get thrown out of the group which is how I left.
I`ve also spoken to a guy called Nathan who runs the Alopecia Boy network, which is very interesting.
I was surprised too to find so many lovely bald ladies on this, a hair site of all things! Thank you, Bald Heidi, Bald Jennifer, Bald Linda and Bald Carol for your continued correspondence.
As for me, well, I`ve got as far as publishing a small fuzzy pic of me on the net (on my page). I can assure you it is the only one of me bald in existence on the net or anywhere!
You are right about bald heads being attractive, it`s just that sometimes I`d like a change, to be able to go into a hairdressers and have a trim, or have it dyed. I suppose I could always paint my head. There was a programme on TV a few years ago called The Clothes Show where they showed girls who had done just that. One had painted brown hair on with a jagged fringe, another a picture of a target, and I think another had had her head tattooed. Maybe that`s the way to go for us bald ladies, but for the moment at least I`ll continue to slap my blonde wig on whenever anyone comes into view. But this will change, I promise myself.

I have been reviewing the posts over the last couple of years, and a number of women have written in who have alopecia totalis or alopecia universalis. Some of these women seem well adjusted and even happy that they are bald women, but many others seem to feel like it is a problem, or are somewhat embarrassed or ashamed of their condition. My own belief, and the belief, I assure you , of many men, is that bald women are exceptionally beautiful, you can really see a woman`s feminine features when she is without hair, and that a smooth bald woman is sensual and sexy!
My own wife Monique wears her hair ultra-short and sometimes shaves her head smooth and bald, to please herself because she likes the feel and look of a bald head, but also to please me, because she knows how much I love her bald! When my wife shaves her head smooth and bald and dolls herself up with makeup, a pair of long dangle earrings and a beautiful dress, she is so sexy! So smooth and feminine!
And with all of the lady fashion models, lady rock singers and actresses nowadays wearing either very short hair or shaving their heads bald, an increasing number of people are finding the bald look on women an extraordinarily attractive style!
I would love to learn more about what bald women with alopecia totalis think about being a bald woman in the modern world and some of their experiences!
Lovely bald women, you have many that are not only supportive of you but find you adorable! And remember, alopecia is not a disease, you are not "suffering" from alopecia, but it is a style, and a fashionable style at that! Would love to hear from you!
