Just saw how to on a website. My hair length is 20inches and as i said i would like to get to bra strap length.

At the moment, my hair is relaxed with about 4-5 weeks groth. I plan to braid my hair with human hair as i dont plan to retouch my hair till december as i feel that is the best way to ensure hair growth so long as i ensure my hair has enough moisture.

My regimen is quite easy. I wash my hair every 6 days with cream of nature detangling shampoo and deep condition with organics tree tea oil mayonnaise though i am planning to use Lekair soon(Just bought it).I use virgin hair fertilizer each day as i suffer from dandruff and i also use miracle 8 wonder oil on my hair each morning.Sometimes if hair is too dry, i spray water and some oil to make it healthy.

I also plan to braid with human hair which i plan to do in the next 1-2 weeks to carry it for 2 months. What do you guys think?

Hairdiva- Sure you can join! welcome to the site. The braids may work...are u using the crown and glory method? Just make sure they aren't too tight and make sure to moisturize them regularly.

Hey Cmesweet,

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the crown and glory method?

(if it is too long to explain here....just tell me where I can find information about it )

I am thinking about alternating between the 'sistaslick bun' and braids from time to time.

Thanks,

~Qwick

Hey Hairdiva, welcome to the site and the challenge!!!

I'd like to add that I went to Walmart a while back and they had satin fabric on sale for 2.99 a yard (Or something like that). It took less than 10.00 to make a set of pillowcases.

And also, How moisturizing is the 100% pure aloe vera and how does it feel on the hair??

Thanks Carameldiva for that information about the aloe vera...when I get the money I will check that out.

Qwickstudy- Reading the site would be better than for me to try to explain it. Plus there is alot of information, alot of people on forums has had great success with the crown and glory method.

Hi cmesweet,

Thanks for accepting me, i was quite worried. Yes, you guessed right. Iam using the crown and glory method. I feel it makes a lot of sense as i noticed my hair actually grows longer if i braid it.

Like you said, i plan to keep them moisturised so my hair does not eend up breaking since i'll be keeping the braids for a while.

Qwick study, you can get info on the crown and glory method from

http://www.growafrohairlong.com.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

Hey JC#1!  I just read some of the other ladies' messages about their satin pillowcases & I was wondering if the set you bought has a zipper or some easy contraption to keep it on the pillow!?!?!?!?  The pillowcase I bought from BB&B has a zipper on it! Thanks - you ladies are great to talk to!!

Hey HairDiva!  What site did you go to find out how to measure your hair?  Also, LADIES, is there a website you ladies used to find your hair type/length, etc.?

hey everyone....i havent been here in a while but am back now

I just wanna update that after 4 months of patience and learning from this board and others I have reached healthy (splitends free) waistelength hair in the back. Reaching waistelength was never the problem. but reaching strong-thinck without splitends hair up to my waste was challenging. Now I am working on the front area reaching my waste, this area of my hair grows the slowest so it needs more tlc. The front is about two inches shorter than the back...about a little longer than brastrap length. So I guess it will be another 4months for the front to reach up to the back. My true goal is for my whole hair to be even waiste length. So I still have more to go.

n e ways i just wanted to thank  everyone for advice and support.

WOW, Oskana, waist-length? That's wonderful! If u have pics please post them! Keep up the great work! RU natural?

Kbaby - no, the pillowcases have no zipper. But my pillows are queen-sized and pretty big, but they seem to stay on quite easily. They fit perfectly within the case.

Congrats, oskana.

Thanks, Layla!   That's a good site.  I am 4a, relaxed!  Still not too sure on the length.  It looks like about 12" at any given spot (front, back, and sides are all the same length).  Anyway, thanks again

Grow Out Challenge Updates!!

Okay, I just started school again this week so I'm not going to spend much time here (Homework!) I'll put up our updated list within the weekend. But, here's my update:

Alright, I've been washing twice a week:one shampoo , one CW. I've been washing with Organics Olive Oil Conditioner and Following with Mane n' Tail afterwards. I've been using Kemi Oil alot this month and I like it. I'm 8 weeks post relaxer and trying to stretch another 4-8 if I can. In between I have used heat only once or twice because of an event, but have worn my hair in a bun or bantu knots. (I might transition at some point.) From my last relaxer I have an inch or more of growth and my hair is now alittle past collarbone.

Good job on the growth Honeydoo! Sounds like great progress and you I'm sure you can stretch your relaxer for another 4-8 weeks and see even more progress. Keep it up!
