that is true.... take two individuals that never lifted weights in there life. One is 130 pounds and the other is 200 pounds and both there starting maxes are 135 pounds. The 200 pounder would gain strength faster then the 130 pounder.. ( Giving they are doing the same routine.) Some goes for regaining strength may take on guy 1 week to get it back and another 3 weeks..
Its the same way with serious or minor injuries all people dont heal at the same rate.
that 2 weeks regain/loss law is a educated guess its not a fact.
so does that mean the more body mass you have the faster muscle will build?
More like the more natural muscle mass you have the faster you can build strength.

yo anotha informative post..i'm 6'+ last time i checkd a year or so ago..right now weigh 170, and bench 80(for now) takin it easy on my back. as for my back, i been diagnosed wit a condition called degenerated disc sumthn, anyway its like a compressed disc in between one(thnx goodness) of my verterbras. at first i put up wit ridiculous back pain for like 3 years before i got it checked out. most back pain is caused by misalignment of the spine, where the bones in ur back are sittin out of place puttin pressure on your nerves. my condition aint neva gon be 100 but the treatment i been recieving is called adjustments, where the doctor moves my bones back in place couple times a week. sh*t i do for working out or exercising is pretty much anything from weight-liftin, body weight exercising, on and off boxing(i do dis passionately), run, and bike ride(not anymore). oh my fault, what caused my back injury..me particularly could have been weight-lifting incorrectly when i was younger(not anymore cuz of plenty trial and error), or just plain stupid things i did that might've thrown my back out(accidents or falls). i used to fuc wit whey protein and weight-gainer but not that i can afford those things these days, i focus what i need to get nutritionally in my diet. back in h.s. it was anythin from tuna sandwiches and pb&j, school lunch, moms dinner ect. during the periods where i couldnt do sh*t but wait to get better, i either ate out or rarely ate..depression reasons. aight the good shyt, i just started working out 2 days a week, 3 if im feeling gully(up to it) but im madd busy. tuesday i hit teh bench, biceps, and do back rows in light to strengthen my back again. thursday-shoulders, abs, and legs. saturday-cardio or box wit my homies n b.s. the things i can't do as of now, are squats and deadlifts..which'll send my ass off to permanent no nothin ever again! lol..ask me anythin or if dis was too long and unecessary my bad.
I dont think you should really be trying to eat before you go to the gym but like gris said, an hour at the most should you consume anything before you workout (preferrably a protein shake)

just hit a new level today on the bench...im in the 300 club now...305! 315 is the goal for january
Wow almost up to me benchwise(315) I haven't lifted weights in about a week though because basketball and weights don't mix too well together don't want to be too musclebound when I'm supposed to be guard and be the fastest nig on the court, basketball is very rough on my left knee though because I get tendonitis from time to time. After January I will also be looking to push myself into the 350 bench club and I won't go any higher after that though I would just try to get 30 straight reps out of 350lbs. that is my long term future goal after I get my bench up to 350lbs.

yeah man for the longest i just been workin and not eating enough and not really workin out my shoulders. but since i have been doing both my bench has increased. 315 by jan and who knows after that maybe by the end of the month i got it like halfway and that was after doing 4 other sets 135x15 225x5 275x1 305x1 315xfail then i finished my workout. Man that is alot of reps you want to do 350x30 that means your max will be like 500 or something if you can hit 350 that many times.
how long do you give yourself until you can achieve this goal because 350x30 is alot...alot of people cant even bench 225x30
A year and a half, it will take at least a few months to build myself up to 350 and another few months to get 30 reps out of it , but it can be done though.
