I will tell you that based on all of the reading I've done at BHM, the overwhelming majority of the girls there are adamantly against glue in all forms. For the most part, they tend to focus on weaving techniques, wefts, lace-fronts, and to a lesser extent, extendtubes. I think a few people there do fusion, but very few. I'm not sure if this is because black hair doesn't respond well to glue, or that many black women are more familiar with weaving techniques, but it's definitely something I've noticed.
Hi Bridget, I responded to this under the website thread, but I'll say it here again just to make sure you see the post.
I have done relaxed AA hair with shrink links and it's not any different in the application. The hair can be touched up with the relaxer with the shrink links in, so I'm told, just be careful not to get it on the extension hair. In my area there is not a lot of AA clientele, so I haven't had the opportunity to do a relaxer on AA hair.
By the way, I have done a lot of bleach- root touch ups on clients with shrink links in.
