Hi everybody,
I am wanting to know if others have had good results with this John Frieda product.
It smells great and I have only used it a couple of times. I have applied it on my roots mostly (once when my hair was dry and once when it was freshly washed). I spent the good part of the day in the sun each time but so far I haven't seen anything happening. It does become crispy hard on the hair as it dries and takes a lot of water to soften it and dissolve it away. But my hair feels great afterwards.
I almost bought Sun Streaks, but it seems harsher. You have to wash your hands afterwards ( in bold writing ) so I am thinking I don't want that on my scalp. But I noticed that other posters have had great results with it.

I used the lemon lights all last summer with no results except for hard hair and it make flakes in my hair. Ive used the other one with the perxoide in it and ive had great results.
Yeah I tried it once too. I was skeptical because Paula Begoun said in her book that lemon would never lighten your hair color. (People used to just squeeze lemon juice onto their hair in the 70s, I guess. I'm not old enough to remember that.)
But I bought it because I've never tried a John Frieda product I didn't like. But now I have. It smells great... but does nothing. I'll stick with the Sun Streaks. Gotta harm your hair some to get lighter color. At least this seems to be the least damaging thing I've found.

Sun Streaks (the one in a rather unattractive yellow tube) is by far the best lightening product out there. You somewhat have to improvise some instructions and make up a few ground rules of your own. I have ashbrown hair, and my aunt had medium brown. It worked wonders on me, but did absolutely nothing for her. That's pretty much the first rule, you have to be light and want something "glossier." (You end up with beautiful sun kissed golden hair) Apply a fair bit (so it somewhat crusts on the hair) and go out for a job on a sunny day. I'd recommend an hour in the sunlight. (don't walk in the shade) You get a really natural look (believe it or not) At least I did. Oh and one more thing. If you are planning to re-use it, get a good shampoo to repair the minimum damage (yes, i mean barely any.) So don't over dry it. Hope it helps. - evelyn

I use the sun streaks stuff and I love it! I don't even have to go out in the sun for it to lighten my hair, the heat from my blowdrier activates it (I think it says that on the bottle) but I love it. I recently darkened my hair and hated it, but this made a noticable difference and Im well on my way to a return to an awesome sunny blonde color!
i used lemon lights once and all it did was harden up my hair and those little chunks of lemon or whatever were frustrating to wash out. though it did make my hair look shinier. but i say if you want highlights without dye, lemon lights can't help you.
