Joico Resolve. It's a highly effective yet gentle chelating shampoo that removes mineral buildup from swimming/hard water. It also uses sodium laureth sulfate as its main surfactant, so it's gentle and won't strip moisture/color. Unlike a lot of clarifying shampoos Resolve has only a faint scent and costs about $7 at Trade Secret. I use it once a week to degunk and my hair is still soft and shiny afterward...not to mention clean!

Hey Lyris! I bought the stuff because I have just ran out of my favorite clarifying shampoo and it's discontinued so the end of the world came. Just curious how it holds up with dyed hair. My mom is concerned because she's afraid it'll strip her hair coloring.

Hi Spaci! I hope it works for you (your end of the world comment had me laughing.) Tell your mom there is nothing in the Resolve shampoo that could strip her color. I wouldn't use it every day if your hair is dry--not because it's going to fry it but because it doesn't contain any conditioning agents to keep your hair soft. What was your old favorite shampoo that is no more?

It was the malibu un do goo. It was a weekly clarifying treatment and I don't know how great it was but I loved it. Many of my friends and hairdresser used it so I don't know why it was finished. You could buy it at Sally's and it was always almost sold out. Wasn't any drying agents in it and used more natural things.
I did use the resolve myself and liked it. It might be better than the malibu but I still miss it. (insert violins and sniffles here)
