I wanna layer my hair (straight brown hair, 1 1/2-2in. below shoulder) but my mom says that everyone she knows who has had or has layered hair hates it. Does anyone have some imput. Is it really that bad?
Layering hair is all the rage now. Which is why you should avoid it. It may turn out the way you want it to, but it may also give you styling trouble. If you have long hair and MUST have layers, I suggest just a little moderate layering at the very front. I think I`ve seen layers that spike out at the bottom - not very nice. The trick to nice hair generally, I think, is keeping it fairly simple.

Sounds like your mom is the one who hates layers on everyone she knows who has or has had them! Layers R popular => they must be good!
