Well, it depends on what clipper you're using, but with the ones you buy in a store (Conair, Wahl, etc) they are as follows...#1 = 1/8", #2 = 1/4" #3 = 3/8", and so on, up to #8 = 1"

Sorry, I thought you would have used the progression. every number up from 0 = 1/8 inch.

1 = 1/8
2 = 1/4
3 = 3/8
4 = 1/2
5 = 5/8
6 = 3/4
7 = 7/8
8 = 1"
