Hair today, Gone tomorrow

I am so depressed, and I am desperately searching for any information on the internet that can help me with my problem. I recently had the longest, healthiest, nicest looking hair any guy could have. Then it caught on fire at a party, and I was forced to shave what remained of it off. It took my 4 years to grow it to that point, and I am wondering if there is any way I can quickly (granted not overnight) get my hair back into a heavy growing spurt so that I can feel better that my hair is growing faster than .5 inch per month.
