I'm interested in having my hair done all in little braids... i dont want the beads at the end though.... is there first of all a special name for this and second how else can i tie off the braids... thanks...
Hi Veronika,I'm not sure of all the names, but small French braids running from front to back (generally) are called cornrows. When your hair is just divided into squares or other shapes and braided, it's just braids. The important thing is to get the look you want. I think cornrows can be very stylish (did you ever see the movie "10" with Bo Derek, she had a classic cornrow hair style). For tying the braids, you can use strong, waterproof thread, small rubber bands, elastic cord, most anything that will stay in place and not degrade from water or shampoo. Get ready to sit still for a while. If you can find two people to braid your hair, it will go twice as fast. Good luck!John R> I'm interested in having my hair done all> in little braids... i dont want the beads at the> end though.... is there first of all a special> name for this and second how else can i tie off> the braids... thanks...
