I don't have a computer so I am not close to the screen. I am typing on a small keyboard and sitting across from the TV on my bed, a distance of about 15 feet away. Since I am nearsighted it is very hard to see the words I am typing and to make sure I am not making too many typos and because of low back pain I am unable to sit on the edge of the bed because there isn't any back support. Sorry again!Leslie

Leslie,I don't think Karen mentioned dusting so I took advantage of the moment and thought I'd put in my two cents worth. Dusting is taking off about an eight to a quarter inch of hair (the term dusting came about because when the cut is finished it looks like there is dust on the floor). Enough to remove any ends that are starting to split and still alow the hair to grow. I'd get my hair cut every 2-3 months and get enough cut to get past the high splits you have and after the ends are healthy start dusting to increase the length (if you are trying to grow your hair out long). This will make your hair look a lot healthier and keep you from further splits.Angel--cosmetology studentPS--make sure your cosmetologist knows exactly what you mean by dusting if you want to get it done. Hi Leslie..again...I forgot to mention that a dull scissors can provoke split ends to be worse than not cutting them at all. So if you do decide to snip your split ends...please use a sharp scissors.A dull scissors will actually tear the hair rather than cutting it off so that it is even. It was recommended to be that I buy a good sharp pair of sewing or embroidery scissors just for cutting the ends. Then only use those scissors for you hair and nothing else.Gingher makes nice sewing scissors. I also like Tweezermen scissors. Just make sure they are sharp and not dull. Professional scissors can cost anywhere from $100 up. The sewing scissors can be a lot more inexpensive.Best wishes,Karen> Hi Leslie,> Yes...just snip a little above where the> hair splits and you are in good shape.> Best wishes,> Karen

HI KAREN. I AM CONFUSED ABOUT CLIPPING SPLIT-ENDS. ARE YOU ONLY SUPPOSED TO CUT THE VERY ENDS OR IS IT OKAY TO CUT OFF JUST ABOVE THE SPLITS THAT ARE WAY UP ON THE HAIR SHAFT? I HAVE BEEN DOING THE LATTER AND NOW I AM WONDERING IF THAT IS THE RIGHT WAY OR IF I AM DOING MORE DAMAGE. ALSO, I HAVE HEARD THE TERM "DUSTING" WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? ANY INFO IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!LESLIE
