I am in the same predicament...have had short hair for about 5 years now, after 20 years of below shoulder length hair. I thought I needed to go short to look my age, but now, a lot of women my age (33) have longer hair, and it looks great. Right now, my hair is pretty short, still. I have been officially "growing out" for three months. Think Meg Ryan (hair, not face) and that's about my length (but not my same style, mind you). I think I will try the biotin. Can anyone else give some suggestions? Right now, my biggest bug is, I think about my hair every day, and struggle to make it look decent. I am so close to having the back cut to make it even with my "just above chin length" sides, but I just don't want to sacrifice my tiny bit of length in the back...

My hair started out just below my shoulder blades, all one length, and by the time she finished, I had layers. I sent out a call for help right here and was told that Biotin (vitamin/mineral)would nourish my hair and help it to grow. It did GREAT!! My hair looks kinda shaggy right now because I am trying to grow it all out again. However, the Biotin (I go to GNC) and the Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner have done wonders for the condition and length of my hair. I also went to the bookstore to get a 'recipe' book on all natural shampoos, conditioners, etc. Hope this helps. Marlea

I had very long hair and I cut in all of four years ago. I say cut it all off I really just got a shag but it was at my collar or a little longer so that was way short for me. After four years of it that way I decided to jump in head first and go with the super short tapered up against the neck almost but not shaved in the back look. I look like a boy or a stereotypical lesbian. These are quotes from friends and family. If you are thin and have a beautiful face then go for the super short. If not I advise not to b/c my self-esteemed dropped. I am desperately trying to grow it back out but no one seems to be able to tell me which vitamins, shampoo etc. works for that. I am open for ideas.

I know how you feel. I had long hair from the time I was six until I graduated from high school, at whcih time I cut it to my shoulders and permed it. Now, three years later, my hair grows, but never past my shoulders. My stylist swears I have healthy hair but that for some people, their hair length just "maxes out." What I'd really like to do is cut it all off and try short hair, but my hubby doesn't like short hair and I'm afraid of looking like a dude! What do you think? =)

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MY HAIR TO GROW OUT-HAD LAYERS FOR YEARS-FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS AND STILL I HAVE MANY DIFFERENT LENGTHS. FOR SOME REASON ALL MY LIFE (MOST OF WHICH) I HAVE HAD VERY LONG HAIR. I MADE THE MISTAKE OF CUTTING IT A FEW YEARS AGO AND NOW I WANT LONG HAIR AGAIN!!!! MY HAIR SIMPLY DOES NOT GROW--IT'S STILL JUST BARELY PAST MY SHOULDERS. ANYONE KNOW WHY I CAN GROW FINGERNAILS UP TO A FOOT LONG (IF I WANTED TO) BUT CAN'T GET MY HAIR TO GROW!!! IT IS HEALTHY AND SHINY BUT WON'T GROW FASTER!!!HELP!!!
