My stylist told me that any extra protien you take in will make your hair grow faster. Does anyone know if this is true. If so would a powder protien supplement do the trick.Thank you.
From what I have read the only way that extra protein will make your hair grow faster is if your diet does not already have enough protein. Unless you are a vegetarian or vegan, have a poor diet or are a body builder, you probably have enough protein in your diet. I have recently read a book called Hair Loss Prevention Through Natural Remedies which cites nutrients such as silica, biotin, zinc, vit C and A as well as superfoods such as kelp, bee pollen and the Omega 3 oils (flax, salmon, halibut, cod, etc.) as being really great for your hair growth and health. These are long term though. Usually you need to take them for 4 - 6 weeks before you notice any difference. These worked wonders for my formerly pathetic hair. The book also says that scalp stimulation is important. They recomend jojoba oil, ginger root juice (leave on for 15 min then wash) or apple cider vinegar (leave on for 15 min then wash) scalp massages.Good luck on your hair growing adventure.
