QuoteReplyTopic: What can I do with my hair! Posted: January 12 2000 at 2:56am
I'm 17 yr's old and I have so much trouble with my thick wavy hair. It's layered on the sides and a little past shoulder length. It's always frizzy and messy looking. I try to straigten it..(it gets straight) but it causes split ends and my hair just looks unhealthy. I think it would look better once the side layers grow out..is there anyway to make them grow out faster? Should I just cut all my hair short? PLEASE HELP!
I would suggest to you that you work with what you have. I have thick curly hair that would frizz and pretty much do what it pleased until I learned to work with it rather than against it. First of all when you have thick hair the last thing you want to do is add layers which only make it appear thicker. I suggest that you let those layers grow out until your hair is a sufficient length that satisfies you. For thick hair when it's all one length the hair will tame out a little because of the weight of it. Seconly you need to invest in some really good leave in conditioners. I can't live without them. Not only that you'll need to condition it after shampooeing too. A little hint about that rinse with luke warm water then follow with cool water. The cool or cold water will lessen frizzies and add natural shine. After all of this you basically have to let your hair take on a life of it's own. I hope this helps. PS Mousse and gel together adds curl and weighs down thick hair enough to make it manageable.
