You can achieve it by using a comb, sectioning small parts of hair where you want lift and combing in the opposite direction you'd normally comb your hair. In other words, hold hair up and use your comb to go from about midpoint in its length down to your scalp. Then the idea is to smooth hair into place & viola..you're supposed to have poof. It takes a little practice though to create the look you want. If you try it, just be careful not to do it too hard or with wet hair. It's hard on your hair in terms of breakage. Kelly F.
