Cheran,It sounds like you are describing my hair exactly. I had curly hair down past my shoulder blades for years and finally cut it to my chin at the beginning of the summer. My hair was always easy to straighten and grows in pretty straight as well (my stylist said it gets curly when it gets longer) So what I'm saying is if you want to go short do it. My hair is growing in healthier than ever and the frizzies have actually calmed down since I cut it. Personally I chose to try a style that was just above my shoulders first in order to see what would really happen and then I went shorter from there. Make sure you ask your stylist to thin it out a bit so you don.t end up like a triangle head! Good Luck!!!!!Regina

If you don't like it, try this one, have your stylist cut the bang length to about the middle of your nose, and shape the fringe to frame your face (depending on your face shape). Cut the lower back to outline your hairline plus 1 in length. cut the hair from the nape to the occipital in a vertical line from about 3 inches in length to blend with the 1 inch long outline lengths, extend this from ear to ear. cut the crown at 3-4 inches in length holding the hair vertically. starting at the mid point of the forward crown area, section the hair front to back in thin sections and direct it forward at a45 degree angle to the head and cut to blend with the length of the bang area. do the entire top in this way first then come back and blend the sides and top together by "point cutting" so there is not a weight line as such. go back to the bangs and holding them at a 30-45 degree angles/forward, and point cut deeply downward vertically about 1 inch deep into the hair but in only about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide steps, do this all over the head on the top, crown and bang area, blending the back crown to the nape, sides. blend the front sides around the pariental area shorter and cut in angled points or fringe in front of the ears. this can be blow dried for a smooth look or tousled with a little gel for a more textured look. william

>I have battled my super-thick hair for years. I had a short, ear-length cut that worked really well. Just keep it trimmed, blow it dry with a huge round brush, and get some Glass (by Redken)--that stuff is awesome. If you go short, however, I agree with Regina: be careful not to end up with a mushroom head. My short bob was great becuase it was really easy to control.I recently had my hair chemically straightened, and I'm happy with the results. This may be a good option for you, as long as you go to a really nice salon. In any case--find a experienced stylist with good taste.
The present is the past tomorrow. :)
