I am growing out my hair very long and was wondering if there were any long hair-sylists in the NYC or Long Island area. I have been getting trims at various places, none of whom took great care of my hair. It is down to my elbows now and I would like to keep growing it out nice and healthy.

Until he retired he was known as "The Czar of Long Hair" (he came here from Russia in the early 50's). He is very well known and respected as a long hair expert and his (I believe, thousands) clients loved to show off the results of his hair care regimen.The salon is now owned by one of his former employees, Maria Matarazzo, who has very long hair herself. The salon has undergone a couple name changes and I couldn't find the current one on my search for this post, but I will include the address and phone # which may or may not be up to date. The website for the salon has not been active for some time. Here is the info: 420 Madison Ave, NY,NY, 212-752-1177 or 752-1112The Brent Jones salon in Atlanta is a George Michael affiliate salon. I know from her postings that she visits NYC for talks/seminars, so she may be able to give you a reference.
