my hair is short, above the shoulder length and is layered. problem is, it's become dry & lifeless. i've been using biolage shampoo & conditioners; and i also use potion 9. i've experimented with quite a few hair products to bring back shine, moisture, and life without making it look weighed down and without build up. which products (shampoo, conditioners, hair spray, mousse, gel) should i use. i used to love my hair, but lately it's been a pain taking care of it. any suggestions? thanks!!!

Wow, your hair sounds exactly like mine, above the shoulder, layered and lifeless (mine is damaged from chemical processing long ago and those layers sure don't help keep it smooth). I just found an excellent deep conditioning treatment (I just used it this afternoon) which has my hair feeling really soft, looking incredibly shiny yet full of bounce and body (it is very fine and easily weighed down, so this is an accomplishment). It is "Queen Helene" Placenta (yeah, kind of gross, but whatever works) Hot oil treatment with Panthenol. I got it at Sally Beauty Supply - 8oz for $4.99 - about 63 cents a treatment. You just put it on towel dried hair, put on a plastic cap, and wrap a hot damp towel over the cap for about 5 minutes. It rinses incredibly clean too. Good Luck!
