Hi All,It's been a while since I've posted anything, but reading the posts about how hard it is to find Aveda products lately, I just had to comment.I have used Aveda products for a few years now. I have tried other products during this time but always go back to Aveda. It just seems to work best for my hair. Recently I was trying out the Louise Marie Longhairs products. I wanted very much for them to be a good alternative for my hair. I found LM to be very nice and helpful, but so far the products just haven't done much for my hair. My hair feels nice and smooth after washing, but the static is just unbearable. As you can imagine, knee length hair and static is a nightmare. I never used to get tangles at the ends of my hair but with LM products it would take a half hour to remove the tangles and by the time I was done it would be all tangled again because of the static. Using the magic spray just made the static worse when it dried. Sooo, I went back to my good old stand by, Aveda. Then last week I went to my favorite salon to stock up and I was told that they were having such a hard time getting the products from Aveda, that they decided to stop selling them. (a good note here is that I was able to pick up some of what they had left at 50% off) I know that they were a concept salon because I've been there when Aveda reps were there doing makeup demos. So even concept salons are having problems getting the products. I wasn't too worried at first because there was another salon in the same mall that sold Aveda products. So I ran across the mall only to find out that they stopped selling them too because of the same problems. So, I went back to the first salon and bought some ARTec. They were having a 20% off sale and ARTec does work second best in my hair. But this brings me to a question. I accidentally bought the volume conditioner and not the smoothing. Has anyone mixed the smoothing shampoo with the volume conditioner? If so, how did you find it to work? I can return it for the smoothing if I have too, but if it works as good as the smoothing I'll give it a try. I did buy the huge bottle of it, but I suppose if I don't like it my 13 year old granddaughter won't complain if I give it to her. After all she gets all of my other hair hand-me-downs.Well thanks for letting me ramble. I hope we call all find our favorite Aveda products soon. I will miss them if I can't.Take Care,Noreen

Dear Noreen,Sorry I can't help you with the Artec (maybe my friend Sherry can :))) ).Anyhow, I have just purchased some LML products (but am waiting for delivery). I am curious as to which products you purchased and experienced some problems with, so I might know what to expect in the worst case for my own hair. You can email me privately if you prefer. Thanks a lotHolly

I have used the smoothing shampoo with the volume conditioner & although I didn't care much for the shampoo (didn't lather enough and didn't leave my hair feeling as well as the volume shampoo) I loved the conditioner. I even posted about it a few days ago. My hair is fine & straight & not nearly as long as yours but to me, the conditioner is perfect. Perhaps the smoothing version might be better for you if your hair is that long. I really don't know. I only know I love that conditioner! I color my my hair too & my stylist tells me my hair is in excellent condition so it must be doing something right. :) Kelly F.
Welcome back Noreen.. I for one have missed your posts. I hope all is well. Thanks for the info you gave us on LM. I was wondering if I would ever hear or read of someone not being able to use her line. You gave me a scare about Aveda since I am hooked line and sinker on Phomollient. It's a daily part of my keeping those wild grays in line. I am hoping the problem doesn't migrate to this area.. just in case I am heading out tomorrow to buy another bottle. The Phomollient is like the oil.. it lasts forever it seems but my bottle is getting low. Thanks for the tips and it's great to see you back!!
