If it works for you keep up the good work, but go easy on the perms, sooner or later it will begin to dry out your hair. Later on in life your hair will thank you. As the old saying goes, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

I hate to admit it, but I do perm my hair (waist-length) about 2x per year. I also use a blow-dryer to partially dry it after showers. I have thick, naturally wavy hair, and as long as I use a good moisturizing conditioner, it stays healthy and strong (no split ends or frizzies). :-)Jamie :-)

I have waist-length, naturally curly hair and I do color my hair. I use permenant color on the roots and semi-permenant on the rest. I've always wanted red hair, and was not born with it. ;-) I occasionally use a curling iron on it. It's time consuming, so I don't do it that often. Same with using a blowdryer to straighten it. It takes up too much time during the week's a.m. To answer your question: Yes, my hair is in great shape! (This also comes from "hair professionals")

I don't colour my hair, but a friend of mine does, and her hair is about at her hips. She uses henna, and her hair is really shiny and healthy, so if I ever decide to, that's probably the way I'll go.

I rarely use a blow dryer. I condition, use leave-ins and I use Nexus Botanic Oil to dampen the ends to keep them from drying out and help to keep split ends at bay. If your hair is in good condition, keep up the good work. If not, talk to your hairstylist about what would be harmful to your type of hair.

For anyone with length more than half-way down your back, do you ever use color, perms, blow-dryers, or curling irons?Or have you since your hair was anywhere past your shoulders?Obviously, these things are not great for the health of hair, but I am just curious if anyone uses any of them and is still able to have very long, healthy hair. Thanks!
