QuoteReplyTopic: Help, hair colored, falling out Posted: January 12 2000 at 5:04am
I had my dark brown/reddish hair colored about three weeks ago. Yes, I had some grey hair. I had the color done about the same as my orginal, just a hint of red. Since having my hair colored it seems to be falling out alot. In the shower, as I comb it, during the day I have a lot of loose hairs. I have to vacuum the bathroom after I do my hair, its everywhere. Could this be due to the color or just summertime and I'm shedding? Just don't recall loosing this much hair before....maybe it comes with age...lol.. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance....Angie
>Hello Angie,Yes, the color can cause you to shed more hair than normal.Anytime you put a chemical on your hair it will damage it some. If you have fragile hair, the color could have been more damaging. Make sure you use a good professional shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. Over-processing can also cause more shedding. Don't you mean "breakage" as opposed to "falling out". I never heard of just coloring causing "fallout"- with root attatched. From using words like "over-processing" it sounds like you really mean breakage, not shedding-two totally different conditions.Holly
