QuoteReplyTopic: Is Herbal Essences bad for your hair? Posted: January 12 2000 at 6:50am
I've been using Herbal Essences for at least a couple of years, but recently a friend told me that herbal essences and other shampoos with fruit/plants/flowers in it are bad for your hair. Does anyone know anything about this? I've tried searching the web for more info, but haven't found anything on it.
Some fruit extracts (lemon comes to mind) can be very irritating to the scalp! And some things won't harm it at all. I think your question is probably too general to give a specific yes or no. However, I looked up the ingredients in Clairol Herbal Essence shampoos. They all contain sodium lauryl sulfate, which can be very drying to the hair and scalp both. If you've used them for two years, though, and your hair is in great shape, then I wouldn't worry about it.Jena
Well, I don't know about being bad for your hair, but my experience with Herbal Essences was that it left my hair feeling really really greasy. This has been the only shampoo (so far) that has done this to my hair. I know this doesn't answer your question, but I thought I'd put my two cents in. :)Thanks for listening,Shell
