Find a gel that contains no alchohol...Alcohol is what dries your hair out and is in many gels...I love love love Graham Webbs gel called Making Waves...It makes your hair the way you want, without making it dry or crunchy.

The Graham Webb Making Waves Curl Defining Gel ? my hair is not curly though, would this gel work with straight hair?

It should, as long as you dont scrunch it, it should dry whatever way you have it styled.

I use fruit of the earth aloe vera gel, it doesnt flake either.

You can't get it in the hair section, its actually under the sun tanning lotions, its good for your hair, no alcohol, good for burns, u can shave with it too, just to name a few.
