Hey all!

I'm trying to get back to my natural color after being blonde for quite a while. I got my hair dyed close to my natural color almost 3 weeks ago. The stylist dyed it a semi-permanant pinky red color first and then dyed it a brown color. It's way more reddish than my natural color and now that my roots are starting to grow out it's obvious that my hair is still lighter than it really is.

I could go back to the salon in a few weeks to have her TRY to match up my natural color w/ a permanent color but I doubt she'd get it right and I'd rather have it as close as possible so I could keep growing my hair out and not cut it alot.

I was thinking that I could go to a drugstore and get level 1 or level 2 dyes to blend my roots with the rest of my hair and get some of the red out. Is that a good idea? What brands would you all recommend??

I'd recommend Natural Instincts -- you'd have to check out the color recommendations to see which one matches your hair color.

It was recommended that I use Natural Instincts in between permanent coloring to extend the life and refresh the color, in addition to being able to not have to touch up so frequently. I was actually planning on touching up my hair today with Loreal's Open Permanent Color, but am deciding that I'll try Natural Instincts Sahara color tomorrow to see how it works.

I'm sorry I can't offer personal experiences, but have talked to and read quite a few people's positive experiences regarding this product.

Kris :)

I second the use of Natural Instincts. I used it to cover up highlights and return to my natural haircolor. It worked really well, and since there's no alcohol, it doesn't dammage the hair further. The aloe conditioner is wonderful.

Since it is a semi-permanent color, I used Origins Tealights to keep the color going. It's a shampoo that has color added.
