There is a great brand of synthetic hair on the market called CyberHair. It's put out my the hair piece company called International Hairgoods. (IHI)

IHI only permits one dealer per territory to sell Cyber Hair. To quality, you have to fill out a long application and submit pictures of your salon, as well as a proposed marketing plan and budget you would impose if they were to grant to the right to sell it.

To retain the exclusive rights to sell it, you need to meet a montly quota.

They have a hair extension that is made of the Cyber Hair and is connected to a very small bead that is coated with silicone, so the metal never comes into contact with your hair. You thread it on the hair and crimp the bead.

They sent me a hair sample, and this syth hair looks and feels like human hair! Even when it's wet, it still feels like human hair. I'm impressed.

I'm considering submitting an application for a territory, but with that kind of extension, it can only be used once. Currently my competitive advantage over other hair extensionists in my area(who mostly do fusion) is that with the Shrink Link system, you can reuse the hair several times, and that's what really appeals to my clients. So I don't know if I want an extension system where the client has to buy new hair each time.

Do you think it would be more visible or less visible than the MB shrinks? And what state are you in? :)

International Hairgoods is a company that sells stock and custom hair replacements to licensed stylists. Apparently, only 100 stylists in the USA have been approved and have been given exclusive rights in their territory.

I think you probably saw cyber hair on their website:

It's confusing 'cause there are a lot of similar names: Cybermane, Cyberparlor, and so forth.... :)

I must say, I do like the idea of a bead being coated in silicone. I do not think it's best to have any kind of metal directly on the hair for too long (copper is worse than aluminum, of course, but still....). I wonder how a hardened form of silicone would perform directly on the hair. Would it encouage slippage or trap debris, or would it be a good, soft, protective shell? Hmmm..... :)

If I do start selling this hair, I'll let you guys know, but it probably won't be for a while.

They are very choosy to whom they give territories too, and I don't know if I have the money for the marketing effort they want their distributors to invest.

Charlene at Cybermane is a distributor of the Cyberhair products. She just got accepted to the program about 8? months ago or so. She really likes this hair quality and says it does stay in the hair very well. And because it's synthetic, it feels very light on the head. I questioned her extensively about the hair quality (to help me decide if I want to get into this) and she says it's just like human hair. Really, it's not like any other synthetic on the market. The company IHI also says you can curl it with a iron on a low heat setting too.

Do you have an idea as to how it would compare with Dome, Prostyles, and PlastikHaar? Is it also monofilament, or is it a special thermofiber? :)

well, its a good option for clients who don't want to invest in human hair that lasts a year (like me) bc they change their hairstyle every three or 6 months)

also for people who would rather pay over time rather than a big investment up front. it's not like you CAN'T do human anymore, right?
i love plastikhaar
