I know this has nothing to do with hair, but I will ask the question anyway. My skin is extremely dry and my legs have black spots all over them. (I think they are hair bumbs) Is there anything I can do to get rid of this?

This post belongs on the skincare board - not the poetry board!!!

Anyway, my advice to you is two-fold.

(1) Exfoliate

(2) Moisturize

Check out the Skincare board for more ideas on both.

Hi

Sorry, I was in a rush and gave you a poor response. Here is some more info:

Exfoliate your legs daily. Use a loofah or wash-cloth. Use the exfoliating material once with soap and then with just water, in the shower. Just rub the skin in straight and circular motions a few times.
Do it gently so that you don't damage the skin.
Exfoliation will eventually release the blocked/in-growing hair that is causing the bumps.

After your shower, your skin is going to be receptive to and requiring moisture and conditioning to improve it's quality. Usually, bumps come with dry skin, so I suggest you try some fairly heavy body lotions or just use coconut or almond oils.

You need to continue this exfoliation & moisturization regularly and diligently in order to improve the situation.

Hope that helps.

P.S: Thanks - Jeffery, I presume - for moving this thread to the right board.

Sugar Scrubs are awesome in the shower...Here is one of my favorites;

1 Cup raw sugar
1 Cup Reg. sugar
1 Cup Olive Oil........or more or less, depending on your preferance.

essential oil ....this depends on your preferance also...
I like Ginger and ylang-ylang ~or~ Lavender and Orange...

after skin is wet stir the concoction with your fingers, take a tablespoons worth and rub...(take more as needed) massage the skin all over your body. The sugar disolves and if you do this everytime you shower you will notice a difference in your skin almost immediately....Do it every day it's worth it.

If you like you can substitute canola oil for the olive oil.

Cheers
