As for Ms. Kudrow, her long bob is beautiful and I do like it very much, about the ONLY look I don't like on her is the stupid wig they made her wear in the last season!
How do you like Lisa Kudrow's hair in a longer bob, straight and just above or barely touching her shoulders (her real hair when they made her wear a wig on the show). I thought it was great, very sophisticated! They showed it on the episode called "what if" the hypothetical show, rerun was on last Thursday. I agree on Courtney Cox also, but as JerkyFlea's picture shows it looks good now, slightly layered & still long.
I think you are reading too much into what was originally posted and the follow ups. I see you as a valuable contributor to this board, so don't meltdown on a new person.
As for Ms. Aniston, her hair looked better layered. The extensions looked stupid, IN MY OPINION!!! It seems clear to me (again, my opinion) that Courtney Cox Arquette looked better with short and or layered hair rather than that long stringy mess she has on her head now. And the best look for Lisa Kudrow was early in the show when her hair was about 3 inches below her shoulders and straight.

With the exception of Jennifer Aniston (for reasons I'll explain in a moment), I had no comment on your "on topic" ("best & worst of the year") opinions. You talked about Lauren Holly, Paula Zahn, Nancy O'Dell, Rene Russo, and Halle Berry. Did I say one word about your opinions of the hair of any of these women? No. Have I therefore demonstrated respect for your opinions of these women? Yes.
The reason for my previous post was to tell you that, in one of your comments you seemed to depart from the purpose of this board. So what's the purpose of this board? See for yourself at
I'll quote relevant excerpts: "Give your opinions on the styles of the famous. Pass along a bit of your own celebrity hair news... If you've got a question on a 'do, comment on the column, or just want to talk about celebrities and their hair, this is the place..."
I know that JF likes to keep political discussions off of this board, and I tried to say that you were being political -- but I obviously did not do that very well. I'll admit that in my prior reply that I also was political... you and Hal see how unpleasant it can be to read. Anyway, sorry JF.
How was your post political? It was primarily this statement: "This long I'm pentecostal so I can never cut my hair deal is AWFUL. Get a style I say!! It can still be long but for God's sake layer it or something!!"
It reads more like a general prescriptive than any sort of critique of a celebrity.
To a lesser degree, it was also about a few of your comments on Jennifer Aniston ("you could see her face" and "It has STYLE!!" imply that her face is invisible and that her present hairstyle is not a style -- both of your statements being false by definition, and the presentation of these ideas being more suited for a "hair politics" discussion).
Bit early to say, what with the year only half done and celebs changing styles more often than their socks, but here's my current nomination: Best: Whitney Houston. Gone are the curls, instead she has a straight, neck length shiny cut with a cool fringe that makes "subtly hacked" not sound like an oxymoron. It really suits, and makes her seem a lot more interesting than the bland crooner she is. Worst: Liz Taylor. WHAT is that on her head? If she stands still too long she'll find a group of swallows have set up home and laid half a dozen eggs! (As seen in July Enquirer)
Ok time to calm down. Have you read the other posts? Gord was asking for OUR OPINIONS on the best & worst of this year. SOOOOO...I gave my opinion. I will not defend it, I have a right, the same as you, to write it (this is still America right?).
By the way, I think Jennifer Aniston looks great either way, thats just MY preference, in response to Gord.(whose opinion I very much enjoy reading by the way, if you are reading)

You know, some people do actually think that Jennifer Aniston's long hair is flattering to her. Hard for you to believe, but it's true. So you liked her cut from several years back? Okay, fine -- but not everybody liked that cut. You say that you can't see her face now that she has long hair... have you considered having your eyes examined by your optometrist? You think that her old cut hid her jaw in a flattering way, but that's just one opinion -- there are others. You say that her "old cut has style," well, a given look IS a style -- no matter its aesthetic appeal to you or others. That means that her present long (extended) look, whether or not you care for it, IS a style.
Who says that long hair equates to a "pentecostal" lifestyle? As if those who choose long hair can be so narrowly-defined and categorized? Would those who like short hair appreciate a similarly-broad brushstroke to describe their preference? I think not.
You go on to declare, "Get a style I say!! It can still be long but for God's sake layer it or something!!" HipChic, you come across as being very self-righteous, as if your opinions are fact and that others should act upon them. Why can't you allow others to decide for themselves what they like and what they should do? And don't tell me that that's not your intent -- it seems as though you are quite agitated at the long-haired who don't "layer it or something."
Oh, and I have very long hair, without layers, and haven't used a blow-dryer in over 4 years. I like my style very well, and don't give a darn whether or not others feel that it "flatters my face."
OK, the deal with Jennifer Aniston is,Gord, He face is NOT at all flattered by all that hair!! When she first got "the Cut" several years back, she looked great because 1. you could see her face 2. It hid in a flattering way (only slightly) her WIDE jaw. 3. It has STYLE!!
This long I'm pentecostal so I can never cut my hair deal is AWFUL. Get a style I say!! It can still be long but for God's sake layer it or something!! (No offense intended with all my religious references) So anyway hear goes:
Worst: Jennifer Aniston, the blonde on Access Hollywood, and all the other extension lovers, its soo fake!Just knock it off!
Best: Lauren Holly (thank goodness!!) Paula Zahn(sp)I don't think its a New style but nonetheless her hair looks great, Rene Russo in Thomas Crown (I know,I know thats last years cut but it looked so great it deserves mentioning again!)and Halle Berry who can pull off any cut she desires but gives all the short haired women confidence that short can be sexy. P.S. to Gord, believe me if you had to blow dry all that hair every day, you'd know what I mean!!
