In my opinion

Like the previous awards shows it was uneventful as far as the world of hair goes.

No harm done with any style or lack there of.

A few of the ones I noticed.

Halle Berry –nough said, she is both gorgeous and very classy.
Jennifer Lopez – What the heck is she thinking? Or maybe not!
Helen Hunt – At least she has a style and looks like she made an effort to look good.
Camaron Diaz – Better get her money back from the hairdresser.
Julia Roberts – Don’t care what she does she, still looks great.
Sissy Spaceck – Needs to up her salary so she can get a style.
Ali Mcgraw – Another great looking lady.
Nancy Odell – Great in everyway.
Leeza Gibbons – She looks good, but lacks style.
Jennifer Connely - Looks great, reminds me of the 40’s actress’s.
Reese Witherspoon – Needs longer hair but, I’m prejudice in that respect. She is still cute.
Gwyneth Paltrow – Very classy.
Nichole Kidman – Looks ok but could look great with just a little effort.
Jodie Foster – Looked great.
Sandra Bullock – Looked great.
Marisa Tormei – Looked great.
Kate Winslet – Looked good
Sally Kirkland – After all she is Sally Kirkland

Halle, can`t look bad
Jennifer, tried to look bad
Helen, something different, not bad, not great
Nancy O`Dell and Leeza Gibbons, not that Ace`s comments aren`t valid, but to me, they are not celebrities. They are reporters.
Nicole, looks like she has cut off a few inches
all in all, nothing too exciting.

I beg to differ on your point about Gwyneth, Ace.
classy?? IMHO, she looked like someone dared her to wear that dress, then she said, oh..and I`ll put a braid in my hair...um..yea right here, how`s this. And the dark, really dark eyeshadow & liner really topped off the disaster!
But, then again, I`ve never seen her pick a dress that actually flatters her.

Cameron Diaz needs to either wear her hair curly or straight, but this ratty look is awful.

Dittos on Halle & the rest though!!
And lastly....did Faith have a major growth spurt or does anyone think that she perhaps had a visit, yet again, with her "extensions specialist" ??

Best Hair: Halle Berry & Julia Roberts, just for being that tiny bit different enough to standout in that dull town called Yawnsville, Ca.
Lifeless achievement award: Barbra Streisand
Chief sitting bore: Sissy Spacek. You`d think with all their money....
Worst Hair: Jennifer Lopez. She looked like a lion that had been through a carwash. Definitely not the `mane` attraction.
Otherwise, wasn`t it just so PREDICTABLE?

I thought Helen Hunts new shag looked fabulous on her - she never had a style that suited her in the past - this looks great on her.

Thumbs Up:

Renee Zellwegger: While I don`t think she deserved a nomination for best actress, her hair looked great combed and tied back.

Sharon Stone: The longer her hair gets, the better he looks.

Danielle Spencer (Russell Crowe`s girlfriend): I`d like to see what this blonde looks like when her hair isn`t tied i a ponytail.

Sissy Spacek: The best bangs in Hollywood.

Jennifer Lopez: Her hair looked shorter than usual and I`m always wondering if her entire hair isn`t a wig, but she did look adorable.

Jada Pinkett: Classy and sophisticated.

Barbra Streisand: I don`t know what it is about her style, but I love he hair. Maybe I remember how bad it looked when Jon Peters used to style it in that curly wig-like `do.

Leonor Varela: South American actress with nearly waistlength hair. You gotta love that.

Minnie Driver: Long and straight with a slight streak of blonde.

Jill Rappaport: Hollywood celebrity interviewer from the Today Show looked outstanding with her usual long, thick, straight hair. Mmmmm....

Thumbs Down:

Julia Roberts: Wasn`t there a mirror somewhere in her limo?

Faith Hill: Wins the Oscar for the celebrity most likely wearing extensions.

Jennifer Connolly: Gosh, I wish she`d wear her gorgeous hair down for these special events.

Gwyneth Paltrow: I`m just not a fan of Gwyneth as a brunette, or whatever color that was. Was it my TV or did her hair look dirty? Not as diry as the dress she was wearing, but dirty just the same. She was probably the biggest disappointment of the night for me.

Uma Thurman: She`s too pretty to not even try.

Reese Witherspoon: Her hair is just not growing back fast enough for my taste.

Gord,

I forgot about Uma. Your right, especially since she has looked sooo elegant in the past, we know she CAN do it!! It looked like her hair was pulled up then it fell on the sides & just hung in her face.
And...it was VERY nice to see Sharon Stone looking great again, she`s back!

For Gord...here`s a photo of Danielle Spencer with her hair down. Her ponytail was partly extensions.

Hey...

What about Marcia Gay Harden? She had on a spectacular dress and her hair was well designed IMO and finished. Maybe she slipped by unnoticed because of the Cameron & JLo bad hair day disasters?

Also, did any catch the fact that Russell Crowe`s lady had bleached hair that looked like pure straw? Pretty lady but her hair needs a ton of conditioners.

Also...where were the old time Oscar head spinners like Brad & Jennifer Pitt, Drew Barrymore, Ashley Judd, Ms. Jolie & her eccentric other half?

And yes...Gwenyth...what were you thinking with that dress? UGH.

Best wishes,
Karen

Let`s see

Marcia Gay - my only problem there was that I just saw a picture of her last year - and she was so much more fabulous

Reese Witherspoon - I`ve never seen her look better

Halle - well, of course she`s always beautiful and does look better with short hair - but I thought it was too short

Kate Winslet, Helen Hunt, Zellwiger - very good

Cameron Diaz - Uh... OK, yuk

Sandra Bullock - hair great - makeup terrible (the whitish lipstick

Gwenyth - Oh Gwenyth - you really shouldn`t have - any of it

Russel Crowe - YESSSS!!!

Jennifer Lopez - toss up for worst of the night with Cameron Diaz

Always like Nicole

Really like Spacek for a great rep for the over fifty crowd - the hair fits her to a tee

that`s all ...g
Be yourself - unless you suck...wags
