You may or may not know who she is, but years back she had short hair and looked great. She grew it out and still looked pretty good. But I was surfing and found the above mullet.

The only good thing that could come out of this is that she would rather cut it short again instead of waiting 3 months for it to look presentable.

Can someone explain the mullet thing to me? I'm just not getting it.

Looks like she left the salon before the stylist was finished!

No idea who she is, but I'll have to confess the way she looks in those pics has a certain appeal to me-- I grew up in the '80s, and back then looking like that was actually cool :-P .
More awesome than a manatee!

This do is reminiscent of the one Markie Post wore for almost the entire duration of "Night Court" run, although Kylie's style is perhaps a little bit more extreme (long in the back). If I recall, Farrah Fawcett also wore a similar do in the early eighties (pre "Burning Bed").

As for my opinion, I don't know what to think. I try to have an open mind, but I've gotta say I don't love it. Nevertheless, I like it when people push convention. It's cool that Ms. Bax is willing to try new and daring (comedic) styles, when she could just as easily sit back and follow the masses. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out, but give her an A for effort and audacity.

Even with the style, I certainly wouldn't throw her out of bed for eating crackers.

Markie Post 'do' was much tamer than this one ... this is much wilder IMO

Egads, We knew someday that the mullet would return, but who would have thought it might be so soon?

Kylie has fine thin hair and this style never it showed that attribute better. It's rather interesting that her big break in modelling occured when she became Karl Lagerfeld's protégée. It was Karl who convinced her to crop her hair short and bleach it blonde. Kylie has what I call boyish good looks, and in her time she set a standard for short haired femininity. Shortly after this mane style move Kylie went to work with Steven Meisel. (the best of the best in fashion photography)

Kylie has her roots in New Zealand and is still a world traveller. We can only wonder if this is some kind of post modern Euro look that she adopted while abroad. Consider last years Euro rage of the FauxHawk and Hollywoods unwillingness to adopt it as it's own and this style might be DOA as well.

However... The "next big thing" that hasn't been done is the retro eighties fashions. Eighties music is definitely enjoying a resurgence on the airwaves, so one can only wonder how long it will be.

Kylie has always been trendy, but ever since trying out an acting carreer and giving cardboard performances in films like The Big Tease and Get Over It (with fellow blonde Kirsten Dunst) her star has been fading. You might remeber her as a shooting star (...hey who's that girl?) in the 2000 Sports Illustrated swimsuit calendar.

I think that Kylie's face is a natural for short hair with her pixie chin and stunningly good looks any hairdresser I know would just love to lop off the back of this hideous mullet.

I think that Kylie's trying to show that she is still a risk taker but at heart she's very much still an Uber Model and not a Hollywood trendsetter. So we can only hope that Hollywood doesn't take notice of this haircut and bring back this look en' masse.

I agree with the late great 80's hair dresser Suga who stated about the bilevel (as it was called in those days) "This is not a hairdo, this is a lack of a decision."
