Taming humid weather frizzies

I live in a climate where it is frequently very humid and often windy. I spend quite a bit of time working with my hair in the mornings and it looks good until I step outside. Less than an hour into the day, if it is a humid day...my hair is less and less straight and the frizzies are slowly coming about. If I have my hair in a ponytail from the start...I'm ok...but I hate to spend long amounts of time styling my hair...only to end up with a bad hair day a few hours later despite my efforts.
