Thick hair

Hi Everyone,

I have ear length, moderately thick hair. Will my thick hair eventually get a little thinner as it gets longer, Or will it remain this thick forever? About one week after I relax my hair with Optimum care, my hair, not my roots, seems to stay a little thick.

Is there anything that I can do, such as layering it, or wrapping it that will lay it down in the meantime, until it grows out of this box cut.
