to answer your questions- dro gro is a brand name prodct list. You can even put it on childrens hair, that`s the only type of grease I use on my little cousin. you can find them at a beauty supply store.

I use Capilong and saw results in two months. I have been using it for five months. My hair went from shoulder length to a little shorter than midback. My hair grew a little over an inch a month. I bought it from a magazine but capilong has a website now. Hope this helps.

@Chinyere What website is Capilong on. I have seen it in magazines, but we can`t get it in the UK. Is it very greasy?
Sometimes it is a gel. Sometimes it is a liquid. If you rub it into your scalp it will seep into your scalp. It doesn`t have an overwhelming scent either.
I think I`m giving up on Wild Growth oil. That stuff smells too bad for me to use. I have sensitive scalp and it really dries my scalp out.
Does anyone use products by Profectiv? I`ve used their Break-Free, Mega-Growth and Dry Scalp formulas. These products are really good. I should have just continued using the Mega-Growth, because when I put that stuff in my scalp one time, my hair grew so quickly that I couldn`t wait out the entire eight weeks for my next touch-up. I had to go in six. And for dandruff sufferers like myself, the dry scalp formula that comes in the green little jar is really good. Less scalp irritation and flakes. They have this new product out that stops the itch while making it grow at the same time. I gotta get to the store to pick it up. I`m sure it`s good like their other stuff.
lol, You are right about that stuff!, it`s stinks! uck! I really regret buying this! ewwwwww i want my money back $10 for that? i have real sensitive scalp too, it burns my scalp! i don`t know why in the world they say this stuff is very genly, and it`s not!

Glad I`m not the only one that feels that way about it. Everybody else here loves that stuff. But the smell...... Why in the world do they have "Fragrance" listed as an ingredient? I can only imagine what it smelled like before it was added!
My mother didn`t like it at all and gave up on it after two uses, and she`s the one with really short hair. She kept smelling it on herself in church. Heheheheee! At first, she thought it was somebody else!! Heheheee! Then she realized that it was her hair.
I`ll stick with Profectiv products for now. They don`t smell like pepper and tea. And I know they work.
Here is a quote from that website Dragooney just listed:
"Do we need to trim our hair to make it grow? NO!! One of the reasons I do not trim my hair is to prove that trimming the ends off have absolutely nothing to do with hair growth. It is surprising how many people believe this myth. I have honestly heard people say "if you cut your hair it grows back faster." This is not true! Hair is not like a rose bush, when you trim off the end another piece of hair does not shoot out!
Trimming the ends has absolutely nothing to do with hair growth!!"
I find this very interesting. There are many people that say trims help your hair to grow and many people that say that it doesn`t. I don`t know what to believe. What do yah think? I get my hair trimmed every eight weeks, but I my stylist chops of sooooo much!

No trimming does not help you hair to grow. But it keeps your ends healthy and less dry. This in turn helps to avoid split ends and unnecessary damage to hair. In the long run you will maintain more healthy hair than damaged, which looks better, than long straggly dry hair. So essentially trimming helps hair to maintain healthy ends, which makes you have to cut less hair in the end. If your ends are healthy and in good condition you don`t have to trim much. So then you will have more length. If your hair is damaged your stylist is not cutting to much, she is cutting the off the damage, which you don`t want to hang on to anyway. Hope this helps.

But, my stylist isn`t cutting off all damaged hair, I know she isn`t. She`s just what I call "scissor-happy." I think that she chops off an inch per trim because she trims my whole head once and then does it again from a different angle. No other stylist I`ve had before has ever done this, and my hair has always been in okay shape. But, I don`t want to leave her over something like that though. I know that she does care about the health of my hair, rather than just doing it for the money.
But, even so, I`m thinking about getting my hair cut in layers. I told my stylist this and she was so excited, already planning how she would cut it. This made me a bit angry considering I know that she is scissor-happy. I am afraid that she`ll cut off more than I ask for.

Maybe you arent being as upfront with your stylist as you should be. My stylist does my hair like that but we discuss how much to take off. I come in thinking i need an inch off but she says no only half an inch. She then cuts it and goes back and puts what i can only discribe as a taper or a slight layer so my hair has some lift at the ends. In the end she cuts what she said she would. I have had people in the past that cut off more than i wanted but once i was direct with what i wanted..instead of well maybe this much or maybe that much I didnt have that problem anymore.

The only products I can think of are multi-vitamins. Your body might be deficient in one or more nutrients therefore the deficiency is stunting your growth. I think an appreciable difference can be noticed within 2-3 months of taking multi/hair vitamins as indicated combined with a change in how you handle/style/manipulate your hair. I`ve read where a lot of people like Centrum Multivitamin and Country Life Maxi Hair. GNC Biotin 2500 ain`t bad either.
Other than products, you should also consider methods. The usual culprits that hinder hair growth are exposure to excessive heat, pulling and tugging the hair, not trimming when needed, hair rubbing against non-hair friendly fabric (cotton, wool, etc...), mental stress, dry climates (Colorado and Arizona come to mind). There`s other stuff too.
