QuoteReplyTopic: Whale Sperm Conditioner??!! Posted: February 03 2005 at 10:48pm
I have never heard of this before. Please tell me I wasn't halucinating when I read about it one a Dominican products website. And has any brave soul ever tried it?
I have tried a conditioner with Whale Sperm in it (I forgot the name of it). It was indeed a dominican product (red bottle) and I purchased it from a hair supply store b/c they said it was a really great conditioner. I found that it made my hair very silky (loved it too).... however, for me it caused huge pimples on my forehead (used it three times to make sure it was the product - it was). I would try it (it is really good)... if you get the same reaction on the first try of using it - stop! Hope this helps : ).
It's not actually made from whale's sperm *lol*. It is actually from a type of whale called a sperm whale. Perfume companies actually pay top dollar from ambergris, which is whale vomit.

I guess it's just as great as using placenta shampoo or eggs in our hair. I believe sperm whales are on the endangered list if it is indeed sperm whale they use. However, I saw on a Dominican site that it was the sperm from the whale they use.
I'm not sure what to believe but another site says that it isn't whale sperm but the blubber oil from sperm whales. Either way, I'm not sure I want to contribute to the use of whale products. They are endangered already I believe and I don't want to contribute to their dissappearance.
