Hi,

Do any of you know if clip-on extensions are worth trying?

I'm tired of trying all those thickening products, none of them really work! I've learned that if you have thin hair you can't do anything about it. That's why I want "new" hair, someone else's hair. The thing is, I don't know where to get it. I don't want to purchase it on the Internet because it's hard to find the right color.

Does anyone know a place where i can buy clip-on hair extensions around San Francisco (CA)?

I'm only 16 and I find it just plain painful having thin fine hair (none of my friends have to deal with that problem)

Extensions are bad for fine, thin hair, it can cause bald spots by tugging on your fine, fragile hair.
Just be happy with fine hair, I'm sure it's beautiful!
Go to a good hair stylist and have her suggest the best hairstyles for your type of hair.
Good luck!

Clip ons are awful, please dont waste your money. They make this horrible ridge up at your scalp and are so noticable. Look into professional hair extensions, these can damage your hair but if done correctley can be an option. Im a fellow fine hair sufferer too. I want to strangel people who say to be happy with it. Sure if i have to choose over baldness or fine hair, id pick the fine hair. But thats the only way. Only others with the problem can now how frustrating it is.

Clip ons are hopeless for thin/fine hair.. they are noticable and because your hair is so fine it's hard to get them to stay in. I had preffessional hair extensions last october, but they have several draw backs. First off they are really expensive (Mine were around $500). Second they hair they use (even if you buy the expensive stuff like I did) is not the same texture as your natural hair. This may sound great in premise, but when you get out of the shower and you've got your fine hair intermixed with the extensions curlier course hair, you quickly learn what a pain in the butt it is! Plus you go from having almost no hair to a boat load which is really hard to adjust to styling wise. They were better when they thinned out some and once I got them cut to the length of my actual hair. I'm going to get extensions again, but this time I'm going ot do them myself.. it's cheaper and you can control the amount of hair you use and where you put it.
