Hi guy's, Yes I tested this on a manikin frist it works great dose not remelt. I think its flamible whie in its liquid state so dont smoke and tip once it has cured it will not melt with the temp of the docs heat wand and when there is a shrinky between the two eaven less chance! I tryed two diferent types the one I like best is from home depo Pacer technology Gel epoxy indusrrial strength quit set 4-6 min allso says super glu corporatin on package. the other one seemed to leave a oily residue so this is the one Im sticking two. mix little bits at a time and open window!! it can be handled soon after applying but 24 hours to cure.Silocone is not the same I will go to the depo to check out whats out there this week end. I did another client to day with epoxy and shrinks.

Don't worry girls I will be super careful and do my homework.
Marie~ You have tested this epoxy with heat and it is working
well for you...Can you tell me the exact brand name and where
you get it from? Sorry if you have already answered this
question.
Haha...just say Jenny asked the same Q.....

That's what I was just telling Fina I would like to do with the GL
hair......hee hee......great find Marie!! Now where do we get this
stuff? I was going to try coating it first with something (nail
glue-I was thinking) and if that didn't work I
was just going to cut off the tip and re-tip.
Heat Shrink Reusable Individual Strands
per bundle- I prefer using Great Lengths 100% virgin human
hair for this method, although I can create reusable strands with
any hair. I coat it with heat-proof & water-proof
silicone.

Yes, so far I have them in 3 friends - clients and myself. I am doing another today! they are staying in great. I melt them so that the tip and end of shrink are flush. when you take them out there in great shape they dont remelt or any thing. I think the thing about it is these were ment to adhear to plastic as in electric cords and the epoxy is just that. I use an epoxy that can with stand temps of 149 c and mix only a half dime size at a time and put it in with popcicle stick sometimes I use my fingers to really get the bonds smaller an 1/8 wide or less.
Jenny it's on that cybermane post that's where I saw it. Since she can get great lengths she just coats the hair to use with shrinks allthough she say's she will also pre tip other hair. I am only curious because it would be easyer to use pre tiped hair for shrinks. I think the problem with nail glue is the shrink dosen't want to stay atached to it. And liquid gold bonds back to the hair creating more adhesive to remove. so I wonder if the silacone would be better only for coating pre tips, for making my own the epoxy is working great but you can't have to many options
Hmm...Marie, do you have the link for the site? I'm curious because,
AFAIK, all Great Lengths hair comes pretipped (with the shoelace bond
tip). Is she suggesting that she retips that hair for use with
shrinkies? Seems a little odd to me. :)
I will have to see if it is heat resistant. But I guess you could paint it on like LG. I am pre tiping with my epoxy right now 50 more to go,messy but one step is nice!
