Ok, I procrastinated so bad on using this stuff. I bought a box at Sally's (3.99) about a month ago and never touched it. Well, I was one week post yesterday and decided to try it as my protein conditoner. I was very pleased! Here is my review!!

First, I  wet my hair and used Aura Jojoba oil as a hot oil treatment for half an hour. While it was in my hair, I poured the packet of Hennalucent Sunset Glow in a plastic container and poured very hot water in while stirring and adding alittle olive oil and honey to the mixture. I stirred until it was a smooth consistency and let it stand.

Then, I rinsed my hair and shampooed with CON detangler. I detangled with my bone comb (Another staple).

To apply the Hennalucent, I put on latex gloves and used a hair tint comb to apply it just like a relaxer (part hair into 4 sections and apply like a relaxer.) Then I smoothed the remainder to the rest of my hair down to my ends. I covered with a plastic bag and let sit for 3 hours.

I rinsed for about 15 minutes to make sure it was all out and then apply Neutrogena Deep Recovery mask. This I let stay in my hair for another 2 hours. Then I rinsed and applied WGHO and ORS Olive Oil.

Before I conditioned my hair was alittle hard feeling but as the conditoner sat in, it softened right up. My hair now has a slight golden hue in the light and it's alot shinier and stronger! The shedding I was experiencing is completely gone and my hair feels good. This is going to be a staple project. If anyone is going to try though read the directions. This henna project is safe for chemically processed hair.

WOW!! Thats awesome! Can't wait to try it!  I have black hair, so will any colors show?  Is there a clear henna?

Yeah, there is a neutral Hennalucent specifically for conditioning and strengthening without color. If you go to http://www.sallybeauty.com and type in Hennalucent you should get a full list of the colors available. My hair is very dark except it looks reddish in the sun. Now that I added the Hennalucent it has a golden tint to it. It's not completely noticeable but I know there are colors available that may give you better color. Most are red hues although there is a Bark Brown and a black to turn your hair darker. Overall I like.

Honeydoo is your hair relaxed? My mom has used hennalucent for years. But since I started relaxing my hair i was confused about using it because the relaxers say don't use henna with it. But hennalucent says you can use it. My mom usually uses Sunset Glow but one time she had this burgundy color so I used the leftover on one section and it was a purplish streak in my hair. When my mom gets some more I might use it again since you say it's safe.

Layla, my hair is relaxed. Actually I touched it up 1 week ago. It says on the box the specific chemical processes it can be used on and relaxed is one of them. I used Sunset Glo too and it cam out fine. My hair feels alot stonger. Of course individual results will vary but I think it should be safe. It stopped all of my shedding too. Some women use it twice a month but I think I might go once since it is a heavy protein treatment.
