So for my next install I'm going to have to do pinchbraids where one end is shorter than the other.  In fact, one end is only going to be the length of the braid (because I can't get super long hair shipped to me in time).  So, keeping in mind that they are only going to be single ended, about how many will I need to do to get a nice full look?   I was hoping to get hair long enough to do double enders, but that's not going to happen this go around.  Anyone with pinchbraids have advice?

I'd think 150 or so would do it, but I'm sure others will chime in. :)

One more question while I'm here.  Does anyone have any tips to make doing to braids easier?  Anything to prevent slipping?  Also, I heard somewhere something about "spraying"?

Serina, who put in my pinchs, sprayed the hair with Sebastian hairspray - she's section off a row and spray the whole row, then take pieces from the row and braid.

Yeah, some people use hairspray or sticky gel to make the braid a bit less slippery. I don't like using product, myself, so I just braid. It's a little more of a pain in the ass, of course. :)

One thing I do like to do is keep the hair a little bit moist- usually with a spray bottle of water. That keeps all the flyaways together. Also, lots and lots of hair clips to keep all the other bits of hair out of the way. And someone to help- even just to pick the bits of thread away from the hair and help you tie them- is always good.

I just want to chime in that cheap non-aerosol hairspray is my favorite because it's stickiest.  I like white rain, or dove.  Non-aerosol is mostly so I don't end up eating it the whole time i'm installing.
