Dang I wish I had gotten some tipped hair on my last order now. What type tip do they call that at RkHair?  Do you know if those tips would fit a small or just a medium microring or tube?  The blonde is a really pretty color.

I got 120 strands from 1 weft.... I use microrings size M.....

I only pre-tip with my connector (both sides get hot) and a keratin stick... That is very fast and hold very well, Im doin it while watching TV

After few month when I take the microrings out, I just have to re-heat the tip and can roll it again.

I have also ordered 1 pack of keratin tipped strands, but damn, they are sooo small, the fit for XXS Micororings, they are too small...

My friend asked me to make some small tips for her, I got 160 strands from one weft...  I have more pics done today, I tipped 4 hours , but my camera don't work yet...

Oh you did those yourself? They look sooo uniform. I'm brand new here and never pretipped my own. I've been practicing today just with latex bond  on some junky curly hair I have and jesus they look terrible.  I don't think I have the patience to be a pre-tipper.  HOw long does it take you to make 160 strands?  You're quite a friend.  Cuz this practice tipping is annoying me big time.

I have answered you in your post about microrings...

Im doin all my pretipps, so I can choose fat strands for shrinkies (to get great volume on the back of the head) and fine strands for microrings for my thin hair on the sides... My other friends get mixed tips, also for larger and smaller strands, but normally they are medium...

I have about 13 girls with an hairextension fever, so I have to do pounds of hair per week

For 160-200 strands I need 2 hours, including cigarette and tv zapping

Those tips look really good. They look very neat and uniform. They look bigger than what I normally use, or maybe its just the picture?

So you say you just use a glue stick with the fusion wand?

I sure wish I could pretip as fast as some of you do, it takes me FOREVER!

As for tipping with keratin....Ive used some pre-made pretips that shed like crazy. Im wondering if I do my own if maybe they wont shed so much. Does anyone feel the need to use a topcoat of LG or nail glue over keratin to be used with shrinkies?

Arghh I need to start tipping again.

Maybe I'll do my batch of HH and save my fairy look for the fall.

What's you assembly line look like Izabella?  You are clearly doing something right.  The tips look a little long compared with what I do but they are sooo neat and squared off on the ends.  Are you trimming them after?  Do you cut a bunch of sections and then glue and then repeat?

Hi- hmmm...if I could interrupt...

What I do is use a pot and melt the glue.  I dip the clean cut wefts in the pot and spread enough glue on both sides while smoothing out excess.  It's like buttering bread enough to coat the bread but not  heavily buttered.

I leave the harden tips to cool.  When client is ready, I simply cut desired width that will match with ring/ shell/ loc/ metal...  Then I reheat the hardened tip with my heat wand, spin and trim off the top completing the finished stick-like appearance.

I don't uniform my tips since there are many sizes of metals.  Often times, I may pull apart the sticks for the perfect size or combine 2-3 sticks into 1.

Anyway, that's my 'homemade' version.  I do really nice sticks but I still hate pretipping

-Charlene

PS. Forgot to add.  I don't use top coats since my tips have held pretty darn good!  And since these are supposed to be 'reusables', I reheat the sticks after it has worn out and just spin them back to their stick-like hard appearance.  I also feel that because I use a glue that leaves a sticky feel gives a better adhering power to the walls of the metals.

I contemplated experimenting with top coat for the shrinks but have heard success stories that some members did not have to top coat with Amm's shrinkies.

I never top coat my keratin tips when using Amm's shrinkies, it just comes straight out with her remover and my clients haven't had any come out.  I manage to do a full weft in 1 hour now using Kristen's X10 sticks and her glue gun its ace xxx

Normally I only use wefted hair to prebond strands, its easier to cut it. So I cut about 30 strands and lay them on the table.

I put the keratin stick into the groove of the hot connector, let it melt for 3 sec. and then I just put the strand in (2 x from left and right side) and the "too much" keratin I take off with the back of the connector (the flat side).

Just roll the strand and thats it... When the bonding is too long I cut it, but that is routine, so there are only a few strands with that long bonding.

I never had problems with sheddig or falling out, and my friend had her extensions in for at least 5 month and lost only 8 strands....

And I don't coat them with anything, that takes too long

I coat my pretips with nail glue from Sally's so when I take them out, they are intact.

do you put a strand into the nail glue, or just a dip on the bonding?

after gluing (I'm afraid, the wet nail glue holds up on me,eek) where do you put them to dry, on the table??
