Yes. I did a shea butter and rainwater rinse. It worked nicely, but only because I already had conditioner applied from the regular hairwash a few days before. I think a conditioner of some kind does make life much easier. Oil-only can work for some hair types, but islandfolk (and people from days of yore) did well with oil-only because IMHO they wear their hair contained most of the time.

Hey, everyone! Anyone tried using coconut oil on dry hair after
shampooing w/o conditioning? Also, any recipes for a homemade
detangler that really works? Aside from vinegar - I can not tollerate the
lingering smell. Thanks, everyone.
