What' s the longest you've been able to stretch your perm touch up? What's the "safest" time period to go with out breakage?

My longest stretch was for 12 wks which was too long for me! I gained length but, I started to experience lots of breakage and no amount of moisturizing was helping. I learned that anywhere from 8-10 wks I'm good. Anything after that is too long for me.

I think 14 weeks was the longest for me. That was this last time and my new growth was really soft and I could've went a little longer.

I've stretched my relaxer touch-ups for 24 weeks (6months), each time I've done so I gained length and never experienced any breakage. As for the safest time period to stretch it depends on what your hair can handle and how strong & healthy it is to begin with.

So far 12 weeks was the longest I've gone and I did not experience breakage.  Well maybe a few split ends, but nothing serious.  Right now, I'm going on 10 weeks and I do not plan on getting a perm at all.

My stretch will 7 months and 3 weeks on Aug. 24. This will be the longest I have ever gone. I don't think I suffered from major breakage, but I will see how much length I retained when I get my relaxer next wednesday.

For the last for weeks I've been washing my hair with a mild protien treatments like Motions CPR. But I make sure to add some moisture to it also. Even though the cpr makes my hair real soft I make sure I have enough moisture just in case.

I do Co washes and/or regular washes and deep conditioning up to 3 or 4 times per week. Then I put olive oil on my hair to keep it moisturized.

So far I have had no hair at all coming out in the comb. I am taking that as a positive sign. I have been conditioning & moisturizing well.  So far I am 9 weeks. Rollersets.  Last night I used ORS Olive Oil lotion.

Question: still stretching my perm touch up...9 weeks

Which leave in would you use given this:

Rusk Smoother...Salerm 21....or.... NTM Silk touch leave in Cream??

Would you use more than one at the same time?

I went 9 weeks and 2 days one time. Then this past time I went 7 1/2 weeks. I'm weak and can't possibly stretch that long. I try, I really do. I tell myself 10 weeks and next thing you know, while I'm 7 weeks post, I'm puttin that dang relaxer in my hair. How ya'll go 14+ weeks is BEYOND my comprehension. I gotta stay strong though... I'm gonna relax when I'm 10 weeks post, I really am. I'm 4 weeks right now...

I'm a pj, so I would use more than one, in fact I always use more than one anything, but that's just me . I just started using salerm again and I like it but I also use S-curl too. It really softens the new growth. I don't know about the other two products that you mentioned though...
