QuoteReplyTopic: new way to dispense LG Posted: September 14 2005 at 11:36pm
So I'm in the process of doing my glued in tracks with Bohyme and LG and I figured I would try the syringe method of dispensing my glue and it worked like a charm. I just have one of those 3cc cat medicine syringes from the vet, the type with no needle. Filled it up with LG, squirted the air out... takes a while for the bubble to rise to the top, but it does get there, and i just stuck a bobby pin in the end when I wasnt using it to stop it drying up.... I get hardly any LG where I dont want it this way. It gets the syringe dirty enough that I'll probably throw it out after this install and use a fresh one each time, but it works pretty good :) It especially makes it easy to put glue on the track after it's been attached so I can bring the hair down from the top sandwich style.
You could try popping into your vets office and asking them for one. Thats what i did, you can buy them online, but I wanted just one to test with before I bought like a box of 100 or anything...
Did elvira mention that we tried this when we were doing octmac's hair
maybe a month ago? We used 5 and 10 cc plastic syringes.
They need to have the fine point (not a sharp just the finer plastic
tip). IT worked really well for us.
Yes, I think I did mention it Mocha. I haven't been here for a while but wanted to say hi. Also, the 5cc syringe works the best. (It fits exactly over the LG top)
So you don't get any bubbles, you want to first draw up some air into the syringe, then push it into the LG bottle, turn the bottle upside down, and then suck up the LG into the syringe and your ready to roll.
You can find these syringes in a hospital if you have any nurse/doctor friends. I get them from work.

Wow! I wish I would have had a syringe the other night when doing an install on a clinet. It probably would have taken half the time if I didn't have to keep messin with sticking the brush in the bottle and trying not to get the glue all over. Can somebody point me in the direction of a site that sells just syringes?

I just got a box of 100 3 cc. syringes for less than $20, including
shipping. The order came in three days with standard shipping.
Here is where I ordered them:
i had a syringe saved up for a few weeks while i waited for my hair to
arrive and my well-meaning fellow thought it was used (we have cats)
and tossed it. when he saw me tearing through the house in
desperate search of the syringe, he thought i had lost it until i
explained how it's used in the magical world of hair extensions.
he promised to never throw away bizarre things again.
i found out, though, that if you're in a pinch, get a q-tip, remove the
fuzz (all of it) and dip it into the LG and pull it out while "spinning
it" to gather the glue threads. then slide the length of the
stick where you want the glue. don't dab w/ the stick
perpendicular to where you want your glue line. just lay the
stick on the hair and slide it while rolling it and all the glue will
be in a perfect line.
