ok so i have been dyeing my hair for quite some time now. black, blonde, red, brown, blue, green, orange, black with a hot pink stripe, you name it, i've done it. oh i should probably mention that i am a guy. the problem is that when i dye my hair with a semi/demi-permanent, it just does not last at all. the color is pretty much gone in a couple of days. and this is after intense bleaching (i ususally do it twice in a row) i am soooo tired of having to re-dye! so my question is: how do i permanently dye my hair a crazy color? how can there possibly not be permanent ones? i miss being blue-haired! my hair is normally dark brown, right now black. i'm bored tho, and want to dye very soon. thanks in advance! I'd like blue hair, too, I've just had really bad experiences with bleaching. . . as in, all bad experiences, none good -_-; . . . so if I ever actually get to the mall and have money (two very rare events that even more rarely co-incide) I'll buy a dark blue there and see how well it shows and how well it stays on my natural hair.
I really wish I could say something helpful, as I have been involved in numerous discussions on this very topic here before, but it's a quarter past three and I honestly can't remember a thing about it -_- .
More awesome than a manatee!

the best true blue I have ever used was paul mitchal's ink works. Didnt bleed, hardly faded after wearing for months, and a very rich color. Only problem - its a b*tch to remove with a color stripper. The only option is to color over it with either black, or various shades of violet/red to get different purple hues.
P.S. yes you will have to bleach to at least a light orangy color to get a real solid blue.

Yeah I did blue a long time ago. It was a pain to get and I couldn't
get it to stay. Apperently Aveda has some colors that are supposed to
be permenant but they never stayed in my hair. I don't think Aveda
products agree with me. They told me they can do any color of the
rainbow with those colors. When I did it I had my black hair bleached
to a blond color (can't remember if it was light ot dark and with the
contrast with my natural color made it seem lighter anyway). I hope you
have better luck with it then I did.
