I think going to the salon might be a good idea for you.  The trick I always used to get my roots to match well is never let them get longer than 1 centimeter.  That way when you dye them, they may be a little darker but no one will notice if they are dyed blonde and only 1 cm. long. Then by the time you do your roots again, the old roots usually come out about right.

Once they start to get much longer, it becomes more noticeable if they don't match (and matching exactly on large sections of hair is always a little difficult).  So I'd let the salon handle it this time, then after that always do the roots alone (about once every 3 weeks to once a month) to keep them matching.

It took me tons of bottles to get my hair as blonde as I wanted it too, but surprisingly, doing the roots once made them blonde enough to be fine.  I always kept 2 bottles on hand to do roots, one with a blue base to use first, then one with a violet base for after I did roots with the blue for about 3 months, just to de-yellow the roots a little since my hair was white.  If you're honey blonde you may only need a blue or green based blonde.

I think you should go about another way. Instead of buying OTC bleaching kits that aren't good enough and isn't able to lift your hair to a light enough color.

I'd suggest that you go to a beauty supply and get yourself bleach and developer. I'd suggest buying Wella wellite creamlite or speedlite, both those bleaches are really great and 30 volume developer.

You'll also need to find a toner to match the rest of your hair, and ofcourse the right tools like a color brush, applicator bottle and so on.

Going to the salon to get it right, is probably a good idea also.

good luck

i know i shouldnt off let them get so long but i mean they dont look bad, just that i dont wanna let them go longer cause then they WILL look bad hehe.. well i went to a salon and she told me that it was gonna take 2 bleach jobs to get my hair like the rest of my head.. i would try it myself but then i would probably end up wasting more money and the results might be "scary orange" again.. lol thanks alot to all of you for the advice ill let you know how it went.
