I've been trying to get some red out of my hair. I used Un Red a couple of times and it's better.
 
My original hair color is med brown but when I was out in the sun it turned redder.
 
 I bleach my hair for many years and then eventually went to just color. I was maintaining a blonde color.
 
Then decided to go red now I want to go to a lighter brown shade closer to my natural but not so dark.
When my roots start to grow out what should I do?
I've only used Wella Color charm.

try colorfix and see how much dye you can get rid off. Colorfix is a color remover, you can get it a beauty supplies or online.

Then after removing the old dye, you'll need to dye your hair again. To make the dye appear more natural, I'd suggest mixing a neutral light brown shade with a warm light brown shade. (Since your hair will be very porous you'll need to pick a dye that's 1-2 shades lighter than your target level, if not your hair can end up looking black/blackish)
