I trained with Images and am now about to start up after spending weeks practising to make perfect!

I too am not a hairdresser but with patience you can work it out.

So theres nothing wrong with them offering a course for novices!

we all start somewhere! i i feel that if need to have hairdressing experiance when i have finished this course i will do it!! until then i am paying good money to train to become fully qualified! and will be telling people that i do not cut trim or style the hair before i do it..i really cant see the problem if that was such a major issue surley the people that take the course would have a problem with it. i have checked out every possible thing about this company and cannot find a bad thing about them so yeah im still chuffed to bits! as they say you cant win them all eh!

Why is it not a good thing that completely novice-to-hairdressing people are able to go out, take a 1 day course and offer treatments to clients that can potentially damage and break their hair? Oh.. i don't know!

Please not: that is not directed towards you directly.  I am speaking as a professional.

I'd take your NVQ 1 to give you a basic knowledge chick, they run courses for that at Worksop college in an evening so you could do that and keep your day job and see if you like it x

good on ya nicey, i know we make it look so easy to do but it takes a lot of practice and experience to be a good extensionist. i have seen so many adverts on ebay from people setting up as extensionists who have had no real training and experience but are charging the same price as proficient extensionists. to be a good extensionist you need to know a lot more than just how to install them, every clients hair is different and every clients needs are different.knowledge is POWER!! god i sound like my dad!!!

hi nicey i would suggest you do some sort of hairdressing training first to get to know a little more about hair. its ok to be able to install the extensions but if they require any trimming off or a few layers or a certain style then without any hairdressing training you may be stuck! any problems that arise can be better solved with that little extra knowledge! a little extra knowledge makes you that little bit more competent.if you were to set up in business you may not be able to get the right insurance either. both amanda and myself have hairdressing training under our belts and it is a BIG benefit.
