They're not new by any means. You'll see these all over online now. I just happened to give mine a name. They're purchased in bulk from China and almost all of them have no adhesive lining. That's why they're so thin.

Let me tell you about them, though. They will NOT stay in your hair unless you are using pretipped hair that has glue on the tip that will melt and soften under the heat of a fusion wand. If you shrink any of these unlined ones on a bare hair strand, they will slip right off. Anyone who tells you different is just trying to take your money. I'm up for the pepsi challenge if anyone says they have something different out there.

Here's the thing about adhesive shrinkies - they keep the extenstion tip and the adhesion area encapsulated. That's what the tubing is designed for - to keep water and moisture out. Without this encapsulation, you're relying on just whatever glue is on the hair tip to protect the bonded area. Ultimately you get a weaker area where the extension is attached and you lose the strand.

With unlined ones, the clean up after removal is only what transfers to your own hair from the tip but they don't last as long. Hence the cheaper price.

edit: Forgot to answer your question. No, I have not personally worn them but I have put them on Lush tips which provide adequate adhesive to coat under them and feel very secure.

I have not personally tried the new unlined lites from shrinkies.net, but I have been testing haircandy.net's new ultra thin shrinkies, so I can tell you my personal opinion on them.

First off, they do have a light adhesive lining and are very very tiny but nice and long.  They shrink to the tiniest adhesive-lined shrinkI have seen yet!  I say this because the very first ones I ever used were 1/16 and had a 2:1 ratio (so very teeny tiny and any brush could go through from the roots without catching and you could not see them even when I wore sides pulled back, no lumps whatsoever) and were unlined and even though I tipped with LG, they only held for 3 weeks(if they had held longer these would have remained my choice).

They don't budge one dang bit!  I highly suggest Kristen's shrinks, if you want the the feel and awesome blending of fusion but something a little less maintenance then these are the way to go.

Wish ya much luck

So AMM, I want to see if I got this right, basically if you have keratips, the
tip would melt around it (kind of like a fusion bond) and the shrinkie
would just help hold it a little more secure? But if you have say I-tips it
will just slip right out?
