QuoteReplyTopic: A variety of issues, not sure where to... Posted: November 10 2005 at 10:50am
put this topic.
So i'll just ask here in hope of getting support!
Anyways, i'm a male, 19 and I have these problems with my hair -
when it's shorter, 1 to 1.5 inches, it feels thicker and healthier, but
once it hits 2 inches to 2.5 inches, it feels thinner and drier, like
straw. How might I help it capture more moisture and feel thicker?
That's the other thing, my hair rarely hits even 3 inches, and when it
does, it tends to fall off. My dad even to this day has rich hair that
grows around 4 inches long. So I wonder why I can't get that...
Also, the hairs on top grow straight with a tiny bent, but that's not
noticeable when they're bunched. But hair around my lower sides to back
tend to grow in a circle (curly). I'd like to know if I can get them to
grow straighter, like my father. See, my mother has mostly straight
hair that's wavy, so that's where I get those other hairs from.
I also would like to grow thicker hair as well. Now I know nutrition is
important, so i'm starting to keep up on that. Also, my dad talks about
massaging coconut oil once a night before I sleep, and to place a cap
on.
If anyone else has tips relating to these problems, i'd appreciate it.
I feel like I have short strands of straw on my head that are hard to
control (the curly parts)
Once again, thanks!

Be sure to condition your hair with a quality, hydrating conditioner. Don't use high temperature blow dryers that can cause heat damage. Use brushes and combs that are in good shape. Eat healthily and get plenty of fluids.
Maybe a mousse or styling gel could help with your curling pattern? Once you get some length - if you can find a hair stylist that knows how to trim to your particular length of hair curl might also be of some help.
