Which of the shampoo or the conditioner will have the best effect for neutralizing yellowness?  Clearly both would be ideal, but can only afford one for now  Also, will there be any negative effect on darker streaks?

Thanks

Generally purple counters yellowness, not blue.  Use only the conditioner and then apply it to the parts of the hair that are yellow.  Keep it off the darker streaks.  I think I might use a purple rather than a blue conditioner though...

Good luck!

That's just the name. It is purple!  I would say get the CONDITIONER. I've had a few stylists tell me the shampoos really don't do anything ... And I tend to agree! Definitely get the conditioner.

I got SO SILVER by Matrix, it wasn't VERY expensive adn it works very good. It keeps my platinum pieces very platinum my darker blonde pieces from goign too orange. I really like it. I  use it every week, I only bought the shampoo.

My shampoo works. Its purple, very very purple, and a g/f of mine uses a similar cheaper version of the shampoo and it works for her too. I think it may depend on brand.

Hmmm, now I'm curious. I'm SO desperate. What is your friend's cheaper version if you don't mind telling? I may look into the Matrix too.
